A. they / agents / clubs wanted more than they were realistically worth.
B. they didnt want to come because they wanted to stay and fight for their places at their current clubs

Well Warrington, Wigan etc clearly pay players what they are realistically worth and we are clearly not prepared to as they would be here!!

with a fit SL playing alongside westy, Horne and Fitz i think that is one huge bag of thought process that will cause most teams to loose sleep this year , add to that the fact that westy is a born support runner as we know then the offloading of Manu, Moa and omeley will be a massive thorn to all we face, i feel really confident going into this year dont you??

Of course a players injury record has a bearing, especially when you are coming towards the end of your career.

But his replacement at saints has been injured more than he has so like i have said he was unlucky last year and even you must agree it was freakish how many bad knocks he took .
however the FACT is he is at present fit as a fiddle and looks in great shape and hoping to have a season that warrants a contract extention for another year .
lets hope he has a blinder huh because non of us have a crystal ball so we just dont know do we, but better to be positive about it huh

Exactly...however that does not mean agents view us as rich so put in over inflated offers, it could mean we may have to pay a price to take into account the different variables. So the reason players do not come is they do not want to, or the price is not right.

Is it me or does anyone else think that these rumour threads have run their course now and are pretty pointless since it looks like we wont be signing anyone befor the season starts, ther isnt a runour on here for the last five pages possibly even more.

Well said? He was actually wrong. Only Farrell gained all his experience last season. O'Carroll debuted in 2006 and has played over 50 games for Wigan. Mossop debuted in 2008 and has played over 30 games. Tuson also debuted in 2008, but was shipped out on loan. He got experience at Castleford before even coming into consideration again for Wigan.

These are the reasons why we do so poorly in games FFS! We rely on players with very little experience or natural ability in these positions because we think they'll do a job. If they could do a job, they'd have it as their position! We don't have a back up hooker that is a hooker. We don't have a back up half that is a half. We don't have a back up full back that is a full back. And three of our six prop options this year (Radford, Fitz, Lauaki) are second rowers!

Absolutely not...however what I find frustrating is we beat Wigan for Longy (yet he was 30 years old and near the end of his career!) , yet it appears we will not dig too deep for a young h/back..and we have berro's money, we are in the black and sell loads of shirts etc...
Don't get me wrong we may have already signed some-one or have some irons in the fire....but to suggest we are a club who are cash rich and agents are just taking the mick as an excuse as to why we have not made a signing is poor, considering we dug deep to get Longy.
