I'm saying that - yet again, AP has opened his mouth without thinking. Why would he say the first week in September if he's not going to do it? It was a lie, it's as simple as that, whatever his intention.
The fact is that this week was never going to be an ideal time to announce the signings, I and a couple of others have already said we'd rather wait until our season is over, but he [idid[/i say it.

If Hudgell had made this statement and not announced anything, half of this board - including you - would be on their board slating him for it.

If anyone needs to get a grip it's those that think AP is beyond any criticism, I'm seeing the same people refusing to question him as much as they did the old board.

Reading some of the comments in here I seriously think some would be happier if the old regime were still in charge.

I mean they must have liked the fact nothing was being spent on the future of the club.

I hear them talk of lies when the truth is the old regime constantly lied to us.

I think it's time people realised just how much Adam Pearson is actually spending to repair the damage done to the club by the previous regimes and be grateful that he is investing in the clubs future instead of constantly moaning about the date upon which the club announce signings, everyone who knows atleast something about the game knows that most clubs have an agreement signed into a players contract that the announcement of the next club they sign for is to be after there commitments with that club are finished (ie the last game that they play in the season) unless an agreement is made where the signing can be announced.

It's not a lie unless you think he deliberately mislead people. It really is that simple.

Has it even occurred to you that the original intention was to announce signings this week but events have made that impossible? Or do you just prefer an excuse for a slagging?


Feel free to come up with one single example of me doing anything similar.

He's not beyond criticism. I've criticised him myself in the past. This, however, is an occasion where an enormous mountain is being made out of a tiny molehill. It both laughable and pathetic in equal measure.

He's going to have his opinion challenged. If he or you aren't OK with that then a message board is probably not the right place for you.

Have you thought he may have been hoping that the players we've signed clubs may have agreed to let us announce the signings but haven't.

And I think AP would be the first to say he is still learning about the ownership of a rugby league club and you have to accept he is bound to make mistakes.

Atleast he is investing in the club unlike our previous lot and securing the future of the club

He told a lie, more naively than anything else I reckon. It's not the first time he's done it, and as this is his first full year in RL it's understandable until he finds his feet in the game.
He's ruffled a few feathers along the way as well, which can only be a good thing.

It is very refreshing to see passion at board room level, and people using the 'some would rather the old regime' line is as pathetic as the Tories 'it's still all Labours fault' BS.

Nobody has to agree anything, it's past the September 1st deadline, we can announce who we want.

I'm actually hoping the announcements come after the play-offs and over a couple of months. It's a long, long pre-season without much to talk about, 2 a month will suit me and I know non of them will be duffers, PG knows what he needs and AP will supply if at all possible.

If he said in July that things would be done in Septmeber, do you not think some factors affecting that could have intervened in the 6 weeks or so since then? Hardly makes him a liar, does it?

And in any case the first week of September hasn't ended yet, so we're all getting flustered for nothing.

If the players we've signed have requested we keep it under wraps until they've finished their commitments with their present clubs what is he supposed to do?

an old military saying goes "all battle plans only survive the first point of contact then you think on your feet as you go forward based on experience" and that my friend is very relevant to AP and his plans, they changed so he changed with them

I blame quotadexing. And licensing - but I blame everything on licensing at the moment.

Only Hull (some) fans could get this worked up over the club taking time to announce signings.

What's the big deal? Other than it being slightly frustrating at not knowing for certain the identity of the signed players, what's to get worked up over really? Some of you lot really will moan at anything - what a fickle bunch.

Hull are investing heavily in their squad and infrastructure at a time when many other clubs are in financial difficulties. Be patient and enjoy it.
