It would not have been the end of the world had he left but he is a very integral part of what we do both in defence and attack and it is great to have continuity in our pack. His kicking is also huge for us so it's really good news he has commited to the club.

Ticks has just gone past Keith Boxall (one of my fave players as a kid

) in the points scoring list (70icon_cool.gif and is equal 13th with Arthur keegan on 729.
His biggest game points are 20 against Wakefield & Celtic Crusaders, the latter in which he scored his only hatrick of tries for us.
He has only failed to score points in 7 of his 99 appearances.
He needs;
22 points to surpass Clive Sullivan @ 750
65 points to surpass Sammy Lloyd @ 793
96 to surpass Garry Schofield @ 824
219 to surpass Lee Crooks @ 947
371 to surpass Peter Bateson @ 1099
457 to surpass Freddie Miller @ 1185 (pre war)
522 to surpass Jim Kennedy @1250
603 to surpass Colin Hutton @1331
647 to surpass Ned Rogers @ 1375 (pre war)
736 to surpass Paul Eastwood & John Maloney @1464
And a whopping 1114 to get past Joe Oliver's record 1842
Ticks already averages more points per match than any other Hull FC player @ 7.36 points per game(If one includes S.Lloyds 18 sub appearances, otherwise Lloyd's has a greater av. @ 7.7 for his 103 starting appearances)

lets be conservative and say he will average 7 points per game for us. if he plays 25 games a year (allowing for injuries) then thats 175 a season so 525 more points plus the rest of this season give us approx 80 more points so 605 in total rounded down a bit thats 600 more points so will put him in the colin hutton area on the all time list. barring serious injuries these figures should be the minimum he achieves, and also assuming he dosn't lost the kicking role in the future

Can see Tickle passing all them if he continues at the rate he's going and if we start thumping teams on the score sheet could be sooner then later.

Don't forget that we have been crap for 2 years and only 1/2 way through an ok season, if we continue to develop and score more tries play more games his points scoring avg will only increase so watch out Barney

Eastwood's total came from 10 seasons at the club whereas Tickle's new contract will see him having played 7 seasons.

Nope, it stays at 5 places from next season.

I know what you're saying about 3 year deals and comfort zones and all that however I suppose with good fed-trained players becoming more and more valuable it becomes imperative to tie them down to longer deals.

Delighted with the news that he has signed on for another 3 years. Great player and a kicking machine.

Wouldnt have been overly bothered if he'd have left, but delighted on current form that he has stayed.

I think the reasons he stayed and the feel of the squad in general speaks volumes.

Eastwood only took up kicking duties regularly in the latter half of his 5th season with us so not really a proper comparison, his first full season as kicker saw him get 101 goals & 22 tries (total 290 points from 32 games) He also kicked 101 goals in the following 2 seasons. Very underated player IMO even with his GB reps.

All feels very positive coming out of the club. Lets hope our key players can stay fit.
