How old is he? He seems to have been at Rovers for about 10 years

One of the Rovers directors told me last week that Lovegroove is going nowhere.

However. if we are after him and he does sign, I for one, would not be disappointed. I think he's very underrated.

Is that his age or his weight

Better than O'carroll, a good age, versatile as can cover several positions and quite quick.

If Tickle goes and we bring in Lovegrove then pass sales will be even lower.

Contracted for the back row next season we have Ellis, Tickle, Whiting, Westerman, Pitts, Kent. With that, if we were to sign Lovegrove then we would either be viewing him as a Prop or as a utility forward there to give competition for places in both the front and back rows, getting a fair bit of gametime.

I would welcome the signing of him, as long as it doesn't impact our signing of a halfback and maybe winger as those are both really key positions that we need to make signings in.

the people we are being linked with are hardly setting my ambitions alight, time wtill tell, we should be focussing on this season, we're not out of a shot at 4th just yet!

Directors are hardly likely to exclusively reveal departures and arrivals like that though, are they?

don't be silly, the rovers board meeting happens in the pub, with the usual (waining) trolls within earshot, it's how business is done.

If our board let Lovegrove go because he is (rumoured) being offered a lower contract, especially as we will be offloading a high earner in Clinton, they want shooting. Lovegrove is consistently a good performer, his work rate is exceptional and he covers a number of positions well. I think he will mature into a top rate player, especially as a prop and could even go back to the NRL.
