Also, IF Manu has chosen Saints (or anyone else) and Ellis has chosen FC, then both sides are better off with players who want to play for them, whatever their motiviation.

Why compare him to Ellis at all? The point is we are tying to improve and losing Manu will only weaken us IMO. I don't think I'd swap him for any other back rower in SL at the moment. The fact the club have tried very hard to keep him proves how important a player we think he is and the most dissapointing aspect if he goes is that we were not able to convince him to stay despite the ambition at the club.
