Tbh, I don't think that we'll be signing a young halfback like Wildie at this point. If we were going to then we wouldn't have signed up Nicklas for next season. I think that for next season we'll be looking at 2 new halfbacks as our first choice (Chase and Holdsworth?), Nicklas as the young cover, as well as a utility player (Horne/McGoldrick?) who could go there when needed.

Not one of those players can play first receiver effectively.

I just think that we wouldn't have signed up Nicklas if we were to sign Wildie or someone similar.

He's a young halfback at Wakefield. His name has been mentioned quite a lot in this thread.

I see where your coming from but then will Horne and Mcgoldrick be here next year? Didn't Pearson also come out and publicly say that basically most of our under 20's where not good enough to make it (but the younger crop of 16 year olds where looking really promising)! I think this is epecially true in the half backs where we need to go out and buy some good youngsters who are on the cusp of breaking into SL. We need to bring a few players in to bridge that age gap in the production line of young talent i reckon.

Done deal that one , he's 1 of 7 . Think we're after decent young back ups seen as our youth teams aren't up to scratch at the minute . Maybe nicklas deal had something to do with home grown players , not sure just guessing .

Matt Wildie. I've just looked him up, 22 years old has played 20 times for Wakefield but only twice this season. I don't get it if he's that good I would have thought he'd be a starting half back at Wakefield, not just a squad player!

Fans at Wakefield must have seen something in him as well. Over on their board they are most unhappy that he looks to be leaving. Seems to be rated as their best up and coming player and someone they should be looking to build a team around for the future, not selling ! (mind you, isn't their coach a certain Mr. R Agar).
