You've seen how at the start of the season HF and others were bagging the club for having a lightweight pack and then as soon as we get someone with size all they want us to do with them is stick them in the reserves.

Moa played in the world cup and showed he is a 'go forward' prop, stick him on the bench let Dowes and Cusack tire the Hudds pack out and then let Moa have a go at what appears to be a very light Hudds pack.

Having seen most of the last World Cup, I'd have to question that.

To be fair, if he's only played in one top flight game, I can see the point. I thought he was a little more experienced than that.

Given the fact that he's played at a roughly similar level to Maloney and that Maloney has been with the squad a little longer, I can see argument of the poster who said Maloney should get the nod.

And the end of the day i guess the main point is that if he looks good enough and fit enough in training Agar may decide to give him a go. I dont mind what he has played and where he has played, if he can add to our 17 he gets in for me. If he's not ready yet he doesnt.

Nobody wants to stick him in the reserves. However some of us don't want to throw him straight into an important SL game, less than a week after he has arrived and after 4 months without any rugby, just because we want to see him play. His time will come, hopefully.

Quite rightly so. He has to prove himself first and prove his match fitness and remember he is a 'project'. If he plays on Friday and plays like a donkey the resident airheads on here will be crying Hutch mark 2.



Hull are way too structured to just bring in an inexperienced lump purely for possible impact and 'go forward'. There will be better opportunities for him play than Shudders away.

As much as I would like to see Moa play I would not be too hasty in rushing him through. Regardless of who has been here longer the player should be selected on who will offer the most to the side.

Maloney will know all our drill better and wil know something about the opposition too. Moa has had to get over jetlag and has only just started proper training so could be a litte underdone.

Without watching them train its hard to call but I feel Maloney would get the nod.

That said I think he will go with only prop off the bench anyway and play Lee again.

If our other new signing had been here for a similar amount of time, I'd have no qualms about him playing.

IIRC, so did Ryan Tandy and Bob Beswick. I'd still want neither in a Hull shirt. I think people are getting carried away with his World Cup selection TBH. He may very well turn out to be a very good signing, but 3 WC appearances is not a guarantee of that by any stretch of the imagination.

As said Moa wont know our attack and defence structures at all. Whereas Maloney will. Also its not like Moa is a veteran with plenty of minutes of NRL experience.

Could be in the squad just for settling in reasons, travelling on the coach with the lads, getting to know match day routine and sampling a friday night game with the sky cameras about. Also post match routine.

On the basis of what? Huddersfield have made a strong start and have home advantage and a good pack. Words of such confidence have a habit of coming back and causing embarrassment. On that note, remember your prediction of Rovers "rattling up a cricket score" (or words to that effect) against Wakefield.

As Sheldon has pointed out they are missing 2 key forwards who have been in good form, not so sure if they have alot of strength in depth in their forwards. The Hull forwards have started the season off well(so we hear)and thats really why I am predicting a Hull win.

I dont think my KR v Wakey prediction will be far off and I did state we would win at Saints

Good for you. I'd be delighted with a win given we've got 6 out through injury and are really stretched in the backs. Wouldn't like to call it though.
