dont think we will go well at all. All our attacking spark has come from Kelly and his defence has been very strong.

He'll be back for Leeds and as far as compassionate leave is concerned the circumstances were just about as bad as they can be. He could have gone on Saturday but decided to stay and play on before flying off straight after the game.

It's unfortunate to be missing Kelly on Friday but family comes first, especially when they are 12,000 miles away.

We have a recent history of doing the right thing by the players (releasing Manu and Pritchard), and long may it continue.
The goodwill hopefully stands the club in good stead with the players.

I think the word "that" was meant to be "than", if his family were in Leeds we'd know nothing about it, but a minor issue of travelling from here to Australia means he needs more than a week,it's called a PRIVATE LIFE. So long as the club agree with whatever time he needs then no issue, if he comes back with an NRL deal on his pocket then we can start criticising.

playing someone or indeed having someone at work whose mind is elsewhere can not only mean their mind isn't focussed to do the job right so they can be a hinderance/have a negative impact on certain outcomes (through no fault of their own) but also potentially be a danger to themselves and others.

saying no is not an option in these circumstances, not only do you alienate the individual and there's a high likelihood they'll just go/not turn up anyway, you cause yourself no end of grief with employees/colleagues and potentially local community even business partners/investors etc.

mind you when someone comes to you and says their 'gran' has died... for the third time in 5 years (a real gran, a step gran and a gran in law is all i could imagine a senario for) some people do take things a bit too far at times.

Imagine how many tries Kelly could have scored if his mind was on the game. People react in different ways. We are not machines, we are individuals. To assume it will always have a negative impact on their work is highly ignorant.

I hope the OP considers that our players are not beyond typing in a URL and reading a thread like this.

From what I understand, Kelly has very good reason to be returning home. I wish him well.

I don't know anything, but if he needs time and the club have agreed then I have no issue, the fact he even played at the weekend is enough to know he's turned the corner
