I agree with you 100 percent but he is paid an extremely fantastic wage, easily the highest paid player at the club and even if he is sick to death of the other useless tarts he has to play with his wage should demand he leads by example and is professional.
Remember he has to impress or he wont be offered a fourth year which although he may not enjoy a fourth years rugby he will enjoy the money !!!
And simply put if he has had enough and doesnt like it anymore, fook off and we will spend £250,000 a year on someone else !!!!

Yes he is when fully fit,but its clear for all to see that he ain't.If he was fully fit no way can we afford the luxury of playing him off the bench.

Did you not think that when he come on in the first half he changed the game? As he did against Rovers.

Yes he did for 20 mins or so then ran out of energy.Clearly not fit .No doubt a fully fit Berrigan is the best player we have but at the minute its so frustrating watching him crouched down after ever set or scrum cos he is knackered.

Totally agree with you in that he should earn his money, and bloody good money at that but, I think he has tried and tried to be the model professional and he has probably reached the point where he thinks 'what's the F-ing point when everyone else at the club act like a bunch of amateurs'.
And why would he worry about being offered a fourth year extension when it's quite obvious the club are happy to give contracts to players who are bone idle and have no pride in wearing the shirt?

Totally agree. Employers always have a certain responsibility to provide a desirable working environment to hold on to their staff. In some ways I feel a little sorry for players who must have been fed some right whoppers of false promises and end up tied to a few years of pretty much career wilderness.
Obviously the big spondoolies make up for it some, but for the top players (of which Berrigan is certainly one), it's about more than that. It's actually those who seem to be satisfied by the pay-packet and showing little desire who are more of a concern.

| Whatever Berrigan thinks is right or wrong with life at FC, he's not the great player we were told he was if his head goes down when the going gets tough. At the very least this well paid athelete should lead by example...as he managed to do for half an hour in the derby.

I'd much rather the people causing one of the best players in the game for the past decade to dislike it here 'feck off'.
Although I though he was again pretty decent tonight, given what he had to work with.

Pretty much how I see it. If it's true that he's frustrated here he wouldn't be the first, and perhaps it's time to address why it's the case rather than just tell him he can go. He might well have a point judging by the state of the team.

Your sentiments are correct but let's not completely ignore the facts.
Four years of making the play offs (04-07) followed by a Challenge Cup Final in 2008 to go with a Grand Final app and a CC win is a hardly a team that's given its players 'career wilderness.'
For all our faults right now there are only three teams who can match what we've achieved in the last few years and even Wigan would have taken our last 5 years over what they've managed

| Berrigan has clearly not been fir since he took a knock on his shoulder against Cas. He should have been rested against quins or salford or even both, but Agar stuck him in and now we have to start with him on the bench because he is not fit.
When he comes on he gives his all and puts his body on the line, but this is not getting him fit. Even though he his playing injured he is still our best player imo. He may sulk around and not be happy at the club, who really knows, but nobody can question his effort or commitment on match days. Anyone who thinks that he does not earn his wages is in cloud cookoo land.
If we had 17 players putting in the effort every week the Berro does then I can assure you we would not have lost 6 games on the trot.

We're talking about Berrigan, he's seen one cup final is his time here and a 2nd bottom finish. What I'm saying is that a player comes to a team with the belief they'll continue aiming to improve, not rest on their laurels and slide back into obscurity.
If anything it would particularly annoy me if I were in his position that I chose to join a team (because he'll have had other offers) who were quite clearly amongst the contenders in recent years, only for them to completely screw it up and turn into bottom end fodder with no signs of change in sight. It may be especially galling if other teams he had offers from have now surpassed us, too.

Wel said, maybe if we had a team worthy of been on the same pitch as hiim, maybe if we fought to win the collision get on the front foot a quick play the ball

Agree and when Wakey brought Drew back on for last twenty the game changed totally, fast ptb by him, some great kicking in to the in goal area, assuring they kept possession, and thats what we needed, but don't have, think for a while late on Berro really tried to get them going, but cut a forlorn figure i'm afraid, i'm afraid the rot has set in, Agar is, and i've backed him up on here, losing it. ![Crying or Very sad icon_cry.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_cry.gif)
