Oh no! So we won't have someone to lead a players revolt against the coaching staff!! After seeing your top 4 club turn into a shambles, I'd be absolutely gutted if we signed Brough!

You'd be better off worrying about why your own team is in free fall than about our signings.

| I'm curious about McRae's deadline now.
I assumed it meant 'we find out on Friday (from UKBA), if it's a 'no', we'll say we walked away, if it's a yes we'll extend the deadline until we make the announcement'
However, given the earlier certainty that the visa had come through, in certain quarters, perhaps it has and Cas saw this as a chance to re-open negotiations rather than just rubber stamp the terms of the pre-transfer deadline deal. They did make a point of saying that if it didn't go through back then, he remained contracted to 2015. Looks a bit like a game of chicken, in that case.

Seems highly likely to me. Wakefield are playing hard ball as well because they see ££££ written on AP's forehead.
For those complaining about the accuracy of info on this thread the title of it is 'Rumours' which by definition have some truths and some untruths in their content. Once you grasp that it all makes more sense.

| Amor is certainly not a run of the mill average prop. Has been very good and makes good yards and leg drives. I hope he stays at wakefield but we shall see.

| I'm very happy with AP, PG and SMc and I'm sure they will do a great job for us, however going for Lopini and possibly ending up with Amor is underwhelming. And for the posters saying we can't have a team of Superstars is a load of rubbish, in my eyes all the top teams have a lot more superstars and until we match them we will be behind them. Also we have a lot of good players leaving and AP said said they will be replaced by better, let's hope it comes off or there WILL be a lot of peeved off fans.

The key though is look at the teams who are above us and then see how many of these " superstars" have come though their youth set up.
we will be competing but we wont have as many "superstars" as other teams until we start to regularly bring in good young players instead of 1 a year.
gentle has started to change this butit won't be solved after just 12 months.

Your probably right, after all the rumour and speculation I'll be very happy if we get Chase, Holdsworth, Crookes, Mcdonnell, a big tough prop and one of either Whitehead or Bateman. Anyone on top of that I.e. Amor will be a bonus. Anything less will be worrying because except the halves we will be no stronger.. I know we need to wait and see.

with regards to being weaker in other positions if these are the signing before writing them off like aspinwall and mcgoldrick, people should wait until they've played a few games and actually let our coach coach them.
games aren't simply decided by who has the best squad otherwise cullen and then lowes would have won trophies with wire.

Think you may well be onto something there Kosh. If we signed the full Australian test team there would still be some underwhelmed people. PG knows what areas he sees as a priority for top class and with only so much available on a cap and quota spaces then its a tough job especially when we as a club are in need of so many at once.
We seem to be going with younger home based players that have a desire to play for us and can be moulded into a top side rather than the old stagers just coming for a pay cheque.
If we do indeed get Chase & Holdsworth that will be exceptional recruitment let alone without the addition of Ellis. Maybe PG has decided the way we will play next season we do not need so much emphasis on battering ram style props as long as we have some decent size & pace in there?
Until all the signings are announced we can't bitch and moan although some always will that's life

| Is Amor better than Moa or O'Meley who he'd be replacing, is Johnson too? And dont give me all this bol lux about you cant have a team full of superstars as i know you cant but you need high quality winners in as many areas of the field as possible, not one at scrum half, one in the back row and one on the wing then expect us to be real candidates for SL and signing Amor when we originally went for Paea is poor imo. Id rather have Mason from Hudds or even Lovegrove from Rovers than frigging Amor

Was Ben Westwood a superstar when he left Wakey?
Was Zak Hardaker a superstar when he went to Leeds?
Point is these players become better when in a better environment, so i've no problem with us signing "journeymen" and letting Gentle work with them. Watts was a very naughty boy from Cas at one point and is now looking great. Aspinwall had looked average and people are now saying give him a new contract.
The salary cap and the quota says we can't have a team of superstars, otherwise it would be open season with Wire getting the superstars based on their backer and the rest of us picking up what was left.
As I said before I'd rather have a team of players who want to play for FC and are enthusiatic, decent players, than be tripping over egos when I arrive at the KC as we slip to another defeat before they all head out on the lash thinking they're bigger than the club.

| Think Mr Pearson mentioning that they will spend to get a players in to win trophies has handed more power to the clubs who have players under contracts. Not a really good move IMOA.

everything we do is poor according to you and some of your comments are so silly its unreal.
Amor is regarded as one of the up and coming talents and his work rate is as good as anyones

![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif) your not wrong some are bitching about players we have NOT signed yet FFS (same one incidentally whom said PG had lost the plot when he brought goldie in and our hardest working forward)
if we had a SOO front row coming some would complain
