I agree with Ade (gorgeous though he is) not being selected this time because he has had a terrible season and so does not 'deserve' to be selected. However, I just hope for the sake of all Hull fans that Briscoe doesn't botch it up because if he does, expect some feedback along the lines you have just given Gardner. But don't expect any sympathy from Saints fans who walked there before you!

I would have been happy in some respects to have had no Saints players in the England team at all because then we Saints fans could have rubbed our hands in glee when all the spite and bile flew elsewhere. However, in spite of Roby not having his best season on record and Graham being run ragged yet again, I am glad those two and Eastmond have been chosen to play for their country and however well or otherwise they play on Saturday, I know all three of them will work damned hard on the day because they always do.

gardner's shiit and always has been. Every supporter of every club except saints has known that for years. Briscoe on the other hand is class.

I was only talking about that incident today.

That really scuppered our chances in the game at the start , though I think the final result was fairly close IIRC.

Tom has been selected on the right wing for England and so will be up against Australia's left centre Greg Inglis and left winger Brett Morris.

Brett Morris is a big lump of a lad who looks more like a second row/centre then wing man. Not sure how fast he is but either way it is going to be one hell of a learning curve for young Tom.

Would you have preferred Ellis inside him to cope with Inglis, or are you happier with a more natural centre in Smith? The Aussie left winger didn't look too frightening against the Kiwis, though neither did Hayne on the other side of the pitch, in fairness.

I wonder if there will be a late change positionally but looking at the pack and the bench Smith obviously sees this as an area where he thinks we can beat the Aussies.

i actually think we should play a centre at centre and not plan our whole game around defending against Inglis. Who is to say Inglis wouldnt run around, over or through Ellis, etc?

Was going to say that, whoever is oppositve Inglis is up for a tough night.

In an ideal world we would have a centre with Ellis' build and defensive strengths and Smiths pace!

Maybe we could play both at the same time? Some sort of dispensation - is Hudge busy next week? tell him to get on the phone with the IRFL.

dont see any of our boys being run over to be honest, they are all decent defensive players when needed, defence will not be an issue in this match i believe it will be wether we can break down their line speed wether we win or not
