| I think were the only club to reach a grand final and then make a 10 year
plan of how to get to another.
No confidence in the club with that appointment.
The most underqualified coach for the job.

| Gotta give the kid a chance, he is in an ideal situation to know where the team needs to improve, but as an assistant, had to tow Sharps line for 2 years. I have a feeling that he will do well.
Anyone think that Warrington may sign Steve Folkes how ironic would that be.

| Sounds like we have taken the cheap option yet again, Agar has been involved with Sharp so he shoulders some respobsibility, can't imagine why we haven't given him the rest of this season to prove himself and then looked at a new contract, or was he always going to replace Sharp when the end of the season came?
Seems the trip to Aus was really just a jolly.

Don't think anybody is slagging off RA, must fans know and appreciate his efforts for the club.
The appointment is not going to suit all, opinions will differ, you'll just have to deal with it.

TBH, it's obvious times are bad when the best counter argument to people not happy with the appointment you can come up with is "Won't you be going anymore".

I don't think anyone's slagged him off have they? Some are just questioning whether or not he's ready for the job, particularly with the present situation. As someone else said, it would be very different if he was taking over a relatively successful squad due to someone stepping down, but it's a gamble as to whether he can turn the current side around.

i have dealt with it, and i think agar should be given a chance, he is clearly passionate about the club, all i was suggesting is that he is being written off already after 1 game in charge,
who is to say that folkes or anyone would have been better. looks like the " people who have insider information or think they have were wrong......again,

Well I wouldn't write him off, but it is a concern given that he has been assistant coach during some of our worst times.
However hopefully he will get a bit of luck injury wise and this will give him the freedom to coach that he needs.
Think Hull FC could have done with a proven coach personally to turn things around.

Because our other options are asking for too much money, and the board are now worried that Agar's head may be turned by someone else before then? Just a thought, but I agree the decision seems to have been made rather quickly.

| like other a little underwelmed, but he will have my full support from the start, think he has earnt this chance.
Lets be honest there wasnt any top coachs available for us to sign.
In just one game I thought i saw some improvments in our attacking play, mainly the depth of our line and some aggresive defence.
Lets hope he when we get our playmakers back we can see us convert possision into points, also I hope he has a bit of luck on the injury front.
one thingi am glad is that it is sorted now, and we can start to look at recruitment for next season.
Good luck Richard.

Most fans will give him the chance, just voicing their opinion.
Many will be underwhelmed by the news I'm sure, won't stop them getting behind him.

1. Money
2. Potential to win trophies

4. Area

This has England written all over it for me, and we all know things got a whole lot worse for England. Anyway, he has the chance to prove me wrong.'"
He took us backwards in a big way, we haven;t played any expansive rugby since he has been in charge, his only saving grace is with the injuries we had hiding the fact he will only ever be an assistant.
As for losing our playmaker any half decent coach would have a decent enough backup playmaker, a thing he still didn;t manage to do this season after we got dykes in. He could maybe use the excuse he thought Horne would cover the position well enough if needed, but we found that not to be the case.
This year we lack ideas in the redzone as was highlighted on Sunday when we actually had a lot of possesion in the redzone and still failed to capitalise because of the lack of a playmaker. We cannot rely on Dykes playing every game and if they looked into his previous injuries they would have realised this and signed a reasonable backup player. To me that is a coaches job, wether he signs the players or not he needs to be able to say we need a winger a centre 2 playmakers etc to the board. Hopefully Agar can see where we are losing games and put it right.

But then again I suppose you could look at Brian Kidd and Steve McClaren and say they were both at Man Utd under Ferguson during the success they have had over the last 10-15 years and neither of them ahve really gone on to be successful on their own.
If your going to be a success you have to have the skills and ability needed to start with regardless, whether you were a No.2 during successful or unsuccessful times.
Agar has the skills and ability from what I hear and now both he and the club feel the time is right for him to coach and lead the club forward as the head coach.
Good luck Rich, I hope your appointment is the start of a successful new dawn for us.
