I can't believe some on here are trying to convince me that this is a decent signing. Probably the same individuals who thought O'Carroll and Jamie Ellis were better than mediocre!!

O'Carroll would be a decent prop if he could stay fit for more than three games at a time. Agree about McGoldrick, though - how anyone can see his potential signing as anything other than a massive disappointment is beyond my comprehension.

Plus why release Ellis and sign tattooman? Surely Ellis would be cheaper and as likely to get a game?

As I've said, it's not that he isn't a 'top player', it's that he's utter fooking crap.

What if he's replacing Martin as some sort of cover in the backs? It's disappointing, sure, but hardly a massive disaster to warrant no longer being a passholder.

We know this is a transitional season so why not. Seems odd to bring anyone in on a short term contract when we've just released a player.

I see him as a fairly significant step down from (a fit) Tony Martin. I don't think those who are saying they won't renew will stick to that in the cold light of day. They're just venting over what would be a truly terrible signing.

Plus if tatts is only here till September, why not come back next year?

i agree it is not the greatest of signings and he is a turd but i am sure there are other better signings around the corner for us, this is just one guy who adds a little more experience and versatility and you never know his temperament could be much better when he plays in a better and less frustrating side than cas
