The cap is about £1.6 million for the top 25 earners, iirc. If a team is paying full cap, that is an average (mean) wage of £64k.

This is a consequence of the signings made by the old regime, nothing to do with the new board/coaching set up. I honestly believe that none of the overseas signings we have made would have happened had Pearson/McRae/Gentle been in charge at the time.

In view of whos actually coming over to SL this year i dont think weve done too bad with the overseas recuitement tbh. Its Seymour thats messed us up because he became unexpectedly available otherwise Obst would of probably been one of our halfs along with Horne and Ellis. Now and with Seymour coming in hes gonna find himself frozen out so the club should do the right thing, pay him off, and let him find a new club and if he ends up quids in because of it then fair play to him because none of this is his doing.

I'm not suggesting our recruits are poor far from it, however I feel the new regime may have targetted other players.

but one thing is for sure we will never know will we, so lets just say that the boys we have coming in are all quality to a degree so lets all be thankful
some spent all last year wanting to "bin" some of the dead heads and now thats been done we got to run with what we have so cmon the new season
the real difference will be a coach with an actual game plan, something we clearly lacked last year , under PG last years team would have faired better
