This is true - since the start of last season and including the Magic Weekend we've won five (Bradford, Cas, Rovers, London and Saints) drawn one and lost eleven.

Back on post, the only one we should all be worried about is the Cats game and that's at home so we should be ok. Why not be optimistic and go for all 6?
Hang on, it's Hull FC we're talking about here!

| Someone on the Rovers board is suggesting whoever loses the Derby will be fired (coach)
Could that really happen to Gentle ?
IF we beat London and then lose to KR we will be on 7 points and still 9th after 9 games
The 6th side will be on about 13 points
6 points off 6th and a third of the season gone , this is why there is a thread about the next 3 games !
It is a serious issue , I hope we win the next 5 , as any team heading for the TOP 4 will do just that

| We need to put a run together and sides above us currently have some tough games coming up. It's time to start making a move up the table if we are serious about challenging.

| Right here goes, neck on the line time.
I predict we will take maximum points from the next 5 games.
Why???
I believe we were not too far off against Huddersfield given we competed well in most areas for the majority of the game. It was only a couple of decisions / plays that swung the game in their favour late on, and given their home advantage, position etc, I am not too downbeat following that loss.
We start next week with London away and cannot see any way their attack can cause our defence any issues whatsoever and see nothing but a comfortable win.
We also have Tickle back (a huge loss in my opinion) who offers more of a threat going forward with his style of play than many of our other forwards.
Then we play the shi.te from caravan park, and although a hard game to predict, I reckon home advantage will pull us through on this one (also their defence is abysmal).
We are then into Ellis returning territory and possiblity of playinf against Wakey (if not already played against the scum). This can only give a huge lift to the team, with leadership and real go forward from our pack. Can Wakery beat us - I doubt it very much.
Then Catalans at home - we will be on our uppers after 3 consecutive wins and our record at home against them is very good and I see no different result than a win.
Finally Salford away, and unless they have signed half the kangaroos first team then what happened to the scum from caravan park will not happen to us (oh, and we will be off the back of 4 wins)
I know I will now be ridiculed but I really do believe this is where we kick of our season

i think this is what we should be aiming at and you wont be ridiculed from me for having belief. i also believe we will come strong and challenge for top 6 at least but no matter who we have on the pitch we need some speed in attack to win and gentle needs to drill it into the forwards to fight and get up and play the ball as quick as possible because at the moment they just lay there until the defenders choose to get off a bit more enthusiasm will do us the world of good and help us make better options in the opponents 20 and more importantly score tries!!

Pretty much how I see it but now is the time for this team to stand up and deliver some quality. I think we can win these games with defence alone but that's an attitude thing and it has to be spot on. We need some confidence in the team but it will have to be earned the tough way.

| As much as the next 5/6 games are winnable it will all be about our attitude. If we are not in the right frame of mind we could easily lose away to an in form London and to Rovers in the derby and away at Wakey.
Does this side have it in them to produce week in/out for the next 6 weeks?

I don't think they look disinterested, the defensive effort would suggest otherwise. My issue is we get a performance like the one against Cas but that only came on the back of a poor display at Widnes. Top teams are always up for it. I can almost guarantee that in the next 6 weeks we will have a game were we don't have the right attitude and then have to bounce back.

| Think we'll win the next 2, and then hopefully get a bit of a roll on from there. The next 2 teams we play are both averaging over 28 points conceded and have managed to keep teams to less than 20 only twice each. We're averaging only 22 conceded and have had much harder games than them IMO, so I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to keep them both to less than 20 and take the wins so long as we go into the games with the right attitude.
Some way OTT reactions on here since the Widnes game, could (and should) be a one-off and a wake up call in terms of attitude, yet.

| I will be honest, I am very concerned about the KR game.
Even if we beat London next week, and I'm sure they wont be as poor as they were against KR, if we don't back up in the Derby, the confidence through the entire club from board, to players to fans will take a big hit, and I fear that will be the start of the end of another average season, lets not forget we are a quarter way through already.
Conversely if we win at London and then give KR a spanking I think the team will really push on over the next 6 games.
Because of where we find ourselves after 7 games , lack of leadership on the pitch and inconsistency in our performances, I think this Derby is one the most important in the last few years.
It could be season defining IMO.

| It's our away form which is most concerning for me, Is it something like 5 wins from 18 matches since Gentle took over?
That's what needs sorting because we're generally good at home.

| the team has to get up for every game - not just the big games. its clear we didnt do this against widnes. if we are not up for london we could come unstuck. i think we will lose to wakey - its usually tight at their place and i think we'll go the same way as least season, perhaps not so dramatic a collapse though. home form should see wins against rovers and catalan, though the latter are unpredictable. finally salford should be an easy 2 points
we could win all 5 but we won't - 8 points at best for me, though i've a feeling it could only be 6.
at the end of this run, if we are still sitting outside the 8, gentle will be under real pressure for the first time as coach. but neither coach will be first to get the chop (salford aside) this season - millward will
on the positive side, win all 5 and we will be well placed and full of confidence with ellis coming into the team

didnt gentle say he was addressing this this season with a whole new approach to away games - things like staying over before every game, longer match day prep times etc?
