Thanks for all your comments, I actually thought he might have done a job for us in 2012 when I heard he was going to play junior level RL in Australia, but I guess that is the sort of trip of a lifetime deal you dont want to miss out on. Be interesting to see where he does end up.

Hope he gets a super league gig. Decent player and looked much improved at the start of the season a few years back when he took himself off to London preseason to do some extra individual strength and condtioning training. The club didn't let him finish the programme and he went back to being the normal solid Dowes.

The way I read that at the moment is - 'Hull fail to land there potential signing.....again' I'm getting very pesemistic at the moment after AP bigging things up as much as he has. But maybe, hopefully we have a star announcement just round the corner.

I think AP being new to our sport is guilty of being too optimistic about signing players. It hardly fair been critical of him though.

It still think we have a great team for next year, Ellis will be at least as good as Manu, Holdsworth better than Seymour, Arundal better than Turner, Crookes or Lineham better than Sharp. The only player we have not improved on is Moa but he missed a big chuck of the season.

Not really being too critical mate, just saying that personally (and I think others feel the same) I feel AP built up things so very much, and I'm still waiting for delivery from the recruitment side of things, but don't get me wrong, I'm happy with what is already announced, Going on what has been said I was just very hopeful of 1 or 2 star signings.

What AP said was after Ellis was announced, built up to expect Chase and will be very peed off if we don't get him or similar and end up sticking with Seymour. As I've said I'm more than happy with all the other signings so far but no one has that WOW Factor!! (Ellis apart)

If we get Chase, and its not through lack of trying if we don't, thats 2 Stars in Chase and Ellis. I would be happy with that. Sounds like they might have a backup plan of Miller, wont sell as many tickets but is young and talented and it shows they are trying. You just have to look at who Wigan are signing to see how difficult the market is.

I think people started getting carried away posting names like Bateman, Whitehead, Locke, Galloway etc without a shred of truth to any of them, other people read it and got excited.

There was a point where I thought the longer things went on with Chase the less likely we were to get him. Now it's gone on a REALLY long time, and particularly with him getting married to a British citizen, and the potential visa implications of him doing so, I'm thinking the longer this goes on the more chance there is of completing the deal. Nobody knows for certain of course.

I reckon AP &PG will be pretty owed off aswell after all the effort & money put in trying to get him.

I'm not sure that the club have gone quiet about chase though, didn't mcrae say the other week in the Yorkshire post that the deal was unlikely to happen to prepare everyone for the worst? I think the only reason it hasn't been officially announced as dead in the water is because they are trying to line up a replacement.

Yorkshire Post said we had backed out of the deal. But that's paper talk. Until something is announced by the club, deal is still on

I think the club have gone quiet because they were in danger of heading in to 'spin and hype' territory that the old board got so derided for. If they constantly mention Chase and the deal doesn't happen, some fans would see it as a ploy to sell season tickets.

I agree with the other posters that the longer this drags on the more likely it is to happen.
