This is probably the most disappointing aspect of the whole Prince , Chase , Brough , Dobson etc saga. There just hasn't been any visible Ellis factor. I'm not saying that the signings we've made are not an improvement but none of them to me are the sorts of players that I think SM alluded to when he said it.

Who's to say many players agents haven't been on to us but not been the kind of player we need? Or the players signed haven't been influenced by that? Brought Dobson were made up rubbish, chase was a rare set of circumstances, and prince was a good effort but beaten by a superior lifestyle choice and 1of the premier teams in world rugby, and not to mention a financially better offer! If Seymour so be it. I don't believe he's as bad as made out and with some real support around him could come good. Not greatly unlike finch when he 1st came,2 nd year he was different player. Hopefully Seymour could show what he's capable of!

I wonder if we have missed out on Miller due to our pursuit of Prince?. The time to get Miller was probably when Wests Tigers were in confusion over Tim Sheens leaving.
To be honest, I think Seymour could be better next year (as Finch was this year), but his injury is a massive concern.

In fairness to Seymour, he had a pretty good start to the season. Unfortunately this didn't continue and his performances later in the year weren't really up to the standard required.

Hopefully he's now more settled at the club and area and so has a good season. We often see this happening with many Aussie players - Finch, King, etc - but it should be noted that they we both more successful in Aus than Seymour was.

Whatever happens, I'm fairly pleased. We're signed Holdsworth so we're already stronger in the halves than last year. If we'd have gotten Prince or Miller then it would have been awesome, but I think that we're still looking pretty good.

With the greatest of respect you have Seymour who is now painfully aware that his coach/chairman thought nothing of dropping him from the club if Prince/Miller/Chase had arrived.
I can't see him being more settled now than he was at the back end of last season after that.
