| End of the day we all know who the players are who need shipping out, the ones who think they are untouchable and put a shift in when they feel like it.
The ones who half heartedly attempt a tackle, or don't track back at all and just stop. The same ones who stand and huff and puff arms on hips behind the sticks pretending it wasn't them who let the fans, teammates etc down.
My first issue is these players, how they can cash their wages and pull on the shirt i don't know, absolute joke the sheer lack of effort and intensity at times.
My second issue is Hodgsons persistence in playing them, when we have young hungry professionals waiting to give their all for the club not getting a chance.
For the record il list those I think are a joke as not alot do.
Top of the pile Josh Griffin, followed by Shaul who's now out on loan, Scott Taylor, Danny Houghton if you don't enjoy playing for your hometown club anymore quit, stop cashing a wage. Jordan Lane who's been influenced by all the above in my eyes and looks half d at times. Bit of a Radford era clique in my eyes.
Remove the above and replace and I reckon the bickering and infighting stops. As well as the toxic rot
There are others who simply arnt good enough, but Hodgson does seem to eventually spot this and move them on. Needs to be more ruthless and remove a chunk of Hull born.

| Quote ="Hessle Roader"Whatever happened to "In any kind of weather". If people want to leave then that's their option. However, in view of our famous slogan it does make them look slightly hypocritical. I'm as unhappy as the rest about the current state of the club but I won't be walking away. I've followed them since the 1940's and seen much worse times than these. Hodgson may not be flavour of the month, but for the time being he is our coach and we need to back him and Adam to get it right. Let's see what next season brings before we pack our bags and go.'"
You're right it is an option for each and everyone to decide that enough is enough and walk away temporarily or permanently if they feel that is what is best for them, its not hypocritical just because of a slogan especially when paying out for a season we never had without thinking of taking a refund. I may not have followed since the 40's but since the 70's and seen my own share of bad times with the club and stuck by it.
However for me even in the darkest days I've seen with the club when it was struggling very much on and off the field due to finances and with it a crop of players that weren't the best we've ever seen in the black and white. However what kept me going every week home and away was the team even though it wasn't that talented the players at least had pride in themselves, the shirt and the club and you could see that in the effort they put in. Fast forward to the current team that have had everything they want or need provided by AP yet don't seem to have much pride at all which shows in the pitiful performances we have seen just far too may times.
Its also not so much about the money side of it more the enjoyment or the rather lack of it that is the ultimate driver in my decision, life is short and I don't want to continue doing something that is no longer enjoyable just for the sake of it. It used to be a good escape from the stresses and hassles of life but now it just adds to it and has done for a while. Lockdown hasn't helped as its certainly made me look at things a little differently these days and no doubt others have too.
As I said earlier if others see me as a fair weather or not a true supporter then so be it but rather do stuff that I get enjoyment from than worry about that.

Hodgson inherited the squad, during that time he’s effectively had half of his salary cap injured or banned. Players on long term contracts etc.

Other clubs manage to sign quality halfbacks and we get these two. Can't blame the Radford-clique for that.

| I'd be prepared to let Hodgson have another year if there were signs of progress but 8th last year and probably 8th or 9th this year is just unacceptable.
Everyone agrees that we have not got a cat in hells chance of winning anything soon but with our resources a play off place should be the minimum goal.
It's just not working and I can't see any improvement next season. His recruitment of high earners has been poor as well.
Of course players are equally to blame but those who are underperforming have a year left on their contract. We are not in a position to pay them all off so it'll be cheaper to replace the coach.
You get players who are signed as projects and Hodgson as a coach is in that same bracket. There was nothing on his CV other than being an Aussie and a top class player to suggest he would be successful.
The sense of frustration and disillusionment is as bad as the last days of Agar. I'm not surprised that fans who have supported the club through thick and thin are deciding not to renew their memberships.
Radford stayed on to long but there was always the hope that he could turn things around as he brought us success a couple of years before.
I admire Pearson as he has overseen some good times at the club during his tenure but has made errors as well. Not replacing the coach will be his biggest one yet.

Salford do particularly well on the recruitment front season after season, the likes of Croft, Hastings, Lafai etc, they're good at finding players that want to prove a point

I really dont understand this misplaced loyalty that some fans and particularly the club are giving Hodgson
I understand fans frustration at players seemingly giving up but Griffin and Taylor have been doing it all season without action so what does the coach expect when others follow on mass.Players have to respect the coach and i think they unfortunately have lost respect for him.
Hodgson is the catalyst because he is the coach and no one can deny that his recruitment for the club has been less than poor. Not one player he has signed could you say has enhanced the teams performance.
Mitch was signed by Hodgson but he was probably recommended to the club for a trial rather than Hodgson bringing him in.
Every club at some time will sign a dud but this coach is in a league of his own when it comes to duds.
Really cant see the point of keeping him on.Would be far better to start a new season with a disciplinarian at the head even if we took a chance with a UK coach

Man management skills , knowledge of the game too. His explanations of how teams set up etc absolute spot on.
Hodgson is a clever rugby man but I think his weakness is his man management.
As a player he’s been there done it got the t shirt. Half the battle is getting the players to buy into his game plan

That's the point at our club we bring in lost souls that just need that chance, I think part of the process at Salford involves asking the player if he wants to play for us, we can't afford to get it wrong with a limited budget, usually they have something to prove either to themselves or former clubs, the likes of Croft and Hastings are well documented but did you know Lafai was without a club in the NRL after Parramatta released him. Dupree and Cross from Widnes Deon Cross came as a squad filler and hasn't missed a game all season with the winger turning into a quality centre.
We had the mercanries when MK was here they all came for the dollar, no thanks give me players who waant to be here, we'll leave the mercanries to the likes of Dire and Shudds.

Ken Davy has pumped loadsa money into Hudds. with very little reward, a real fan but AP has managed the club on his budget and had genuine success and yet AP is vilified by some and one poster in particular who hates centres in general
He’s going around and rebuilding yet again, thank god he’s here. Hopefully next season’s new look team may be the one. I’ll renew my passes yet again and hope against hope it lots of jam today with my crust. If Hodgson is here next season we need a fresh voice in and around training hopefully at the expense of Purtill.

| Feels like the whole culture of the squad and performance staff is rotten at Hull. The owner always backs them financially, the fan base is passionate and desperate for something to cheer for and they always have a talented squad. But the team does not deal with adversity well at all and haven't for a few years. When it starts to go wrong the wheels really fall off and I've lost count of the number of heavy defeats (and subsequent comments from the coach about attitude).
I do think Hull should give themselves a fresh start with a new coach but I don't think your problem is going to be solved with tactical or technical knowledge. The main thing for me would be to instill some real motivation, work ethic and resilience into the core of the group. Its just whether the players at Hull have the desire to really buy into a philosophy, commit to it and try and build something. If they don't then I think the club either needs a coach who can change those mindsets or begin a more ruthless overhaul of the squad to bring in players with a better attitude.

Seems to me that you’re outside looking in. There’s a ruthless rebuild going on now and hopefully when the dead woods been chopped away, we’ll see the green shoots of regrowth. I’m sure there’s an excellent coach in Hodgson somewhere but the toxic culture amongst some of our so called players just divides everyone.

Well practically everyone on here is on the outside looking in but you seem to be agreeing with the main point I made anyhow. Maybe Hodgson is capable of the rebuild himself - difficult to say.

first season in charge, missed the play offs....finished 10th irrc
2nd season....made the top 8....lost all 7 games in those matches
3rd season, 2016....ropey start then it clicked until he allowed the players to p!55 it up after wembley and scraped through the next 7 games until losing to Wigan in the play off semi final
so Hodgson gets ti easter next season in my eyes as he is having to rebulid like radford did (without Motu Tony doing the deals)
