A 7 doesnt make a team but a 7 does have a bigger influence on the team than a lot of other positions. In SL, having a good kicking game consistently and being able to organise the team properly and efficiently makes you one of the best halfbacks in the league. I realise the organisation has to be part of the coaches remit to put the attacking structures in place. But the point im making is that if you had Dobson this season youd be in the top 8. Just by being in side. Once the team improved around him in terms of personnel and learning the way he plays, he would be even more influential in a positive manner.

Mate, I would take him like a shot and agree re top 8. I just sense there is some sort of fundamental issue with FC at the moment. I sense you could put thurston in there, and we would only be 7th at best. Something is just not quite right, and I am really not sure what it is.

To be honest I couldnt see him going to you anyway I was just using him as an example, the same would apply to Campese if he could stay fit. Dont think TL would help you, unless you signed someone like Dobson/Campese to play alongside him. With regards to something not quite being right it seems as though a lot of you feel like that about the club and the negativity surrounding FC has been growing for a while. The internal 'problems' that get talked about can only be solved by a complete overhaul in the old guard, both playing and coaching staff. Which would obviously include Radford. I cant see AP ever doing that, but a clean slate and fresh start could do wonders for you. Its a shame Gentle lost the dressing room because he could have taken you forward I reckon, and the fact a good coach like that was ousted by the players is a prime example of the problems in your dressing room. Dont worry youre not the only club in Hull stagnating in the middle of SL

Campuses is a biscuit body and if he gets injured you will slag us off for signing him and saying typical fc signing a crock.I'd be happy with either 1 of them but would lean towards Dobson then Leuluai then Campese.

Interesting posts about TL not being the player we need.....he is a top quality 7 who will improve us.

Always thought Leuluai looked better at 9 rather then in the halves.
He hasn't got a fantastic kicking game and don't think he'll steer us around the pitch enough. He should be an improvement. But if he wasn't made of biscuit, Campese would certainly be the better option, of the two.

I think a lot of fans seem to slate players who are leaving tbf
I.e lynch was past it ?
Travis burns is better than Dobson was now etc etc

Similar to the fans of the clubs that sign them claiming they are the next best thing etc which more often than not they arent.

Sounds like exactly the type of player we'd go for! Rather spend the money on getting a coach and see how good our current half backs are under a decent coach! If his knees are as bad as people making out, the heavy grounds in the winter months and the cold ain't going to help! Hope we give him a miss

Does anyone else think these rumours have conveniently come out, just when the pressure was really on radford! Wouldn't surprise me if we got none of the mentioned, even if we do, does it really make any difference to the rubbish we've been dished up this season, or are people happy to go with the " it will be our year next season" garbage we've been hearing for the last .............. I can't remember how many years

Happens all the time. Rovers fans snootily claiming all year our only decent players are Shaul, Lineham and Paea, now suddenly stating with a straight face that Thompson is the dog's bollox and would be a brilliant signing.

Every team has players to make your own better, its a given. would take lineham but its a mystery why we have never craved your halfbacks whilst you have licked the backsides of plenty of ours.

Did you not crave Paul Cooke ? Sure he saved you from relegation ?

Other than Dobson what decent half back have we licked the backside of ? A few have mentioned Burns this season and Blake Green was a sick note quite a bit for you guys. Plenty ?? Really ??

But the point is this. Rovers board have gone on record that you have the strongest pack in the competition. To improve that, wouldn't you be looking at the likes of Amor, Bateman, Hill, Walmsley? Or if you were tragic enough to target what Easty calls "Team Desperate", you'd go for Westerman, Ellis, Palaeesina, surely? The only time I've ever heard a Rovers fan speak positively about Thompson is, er, in response to a rumour Rovers are signing Thompson. It's the way of the world. Anticipatory apologism, if you will.

I remember bigging up the signing of Michael Ratu. I take a perverse pride in that.
