Well it was Wakey's Twitter feed, and hoped it was Obst.

Those two did come a bit unexpectedly, though.

Phelps was signed as a result of Tansey being sacked. Obst was signed opportunistically due to Wakey's financial crisis and a long-term injury to Long.

Doubtful, now the new 'cap year' has begun we have more flexibility. We'll pay him off without it counting on the cap, just a case of how much really. And the ball is very much in Sams court on that one.

I was right aswell obst didn't start the season for us and also Phelps first game wasn't till wigan away

I hope i am wrong but its looking more and more likely that Obst will not be leaving, unless he can get his British passport making him non-quota i don`t see another club taking him on as a quota player.

I am not unhappy at the prospect of keeping Obst tbh.....

Not sure where he will fit into the grand scheme of things but given the choice I would sooner keep Obst than Horney!

I like Obst and he certainly never let us down last season, however given the players we have signed in the halves/hooker positions we are in need of a quality back rower and if that player is a quota player then it has to be Obst who is going to make way.

obst is an OK player but is costing too much and taking up a valuable quota spot for a player who isn't even in the 1st choice 17

Thats a very valid point, you can`t have someone who is going to be third choice half back/hooker taking up a vital quota spot, theres no room for sentiment and if he can`t find another club then we`ll have to look at paying him off.

Moran was quick enough to pay one of wire's players off last year,and hopefully Pearson will act similar.

obst will go,sharp will go add there money and spot combine with radders money makes for a decent overseas signing! thats what it seems to me based on fact i was told weeks ago about obst, and sharp early last week!

How about Tom Burgess at bulls? Wigan and Wire appear keen,but he's young and can play prop or 2nd row.

I would prefer the club take their time on this again and not rush into another Tony Martin signing, with Radders retiring there should be cap space left so I hope they take their time, deal with Obst professionally (we are not Rovers) and get the right man, they don't have to be here right now.
