She hasn't been found guilty of anything, and anyone throwing around accusations should make sure they have a decent lawyer and a ton of cash to back them up.

Tbh if the players took it I'd like them to admit it, they haven't been caught their openly admitting a mistake which is partly their fault mainly the clubs/conditioner.

If the RFL where involved in a cover up then why did they single out Gleeson?
As stated ,if others used it they won`t be now. Even after the event they would have given a negative test result.
It looks like this stimulant was widely used throughout the game as a whole,not just at Hull FC.

And the part of the story mentioning rule AND Agar visiting him at his home,would show there is more than the 3 involved.

Why do you say that? It was a mistake or oversight, I reckon. I don't see why this particular mistake would be widespread. Mistakes can happen, and this is a cautionary tale showing why all players and clubs should triple check everything. In fairness to Hull FC, it could have happened anywhere (the cover-up is the 'explosive' story), but I don't see why you'd think it was happening everywhere.

I don't go with all the Daily Mail hates RL hysteria over this story. Yes, they are an establishment newspaper, with a readership on the whole that probably either dislikes or couldn't couldn't give a toss about RL, but this story would have made the pages regardless of which sport was involved. In fact, had this happened in soccer, I suspect there would have been much more coverage.

Cheating in sport is always big news. The Mail and other nationals hardly held back with the betting scandals in cricket, bribery in the soccer World Cup, or the RU Bloodgate scandal did they?

The difference between this and other high profile sports scandals, and what makes it much worse IMO, is the involvement of the sport's governing body at such a high level. At least in other cases the sports' governing bodies could say they were horrified by the scandals and were doing everything in their power to combat them.

The RFL, if these allegations are true, have some pretty serious and embarrassing explanations and apologies to make.
Short of that they could continue in the same vein as before and sacrifice a few top-level scapegoats, as they appear to have done with Gleeson.

Not much new in that article really. It still leaves me incredulous that Rule has carried the can without any real complaint. It was Cooper that caused the problem , Long and Gleeson are clearly bad news and have "previous" whilst Rule apparently did what he had to do as soon as he became aware of the problem. He actually told the RFL that the problem was likely to involve more players and suggested standing the squad down for the derby! He wasn't covering anything up. Clearly from that position the RFL have then told him what to do. The Garry Hetherington influence at Red Hall must have had a bearing as well. The RFL and the Board had plenty to lose if that derby didn't go ahead and someone somewhere has decided "this is what we're going to do" and told Rule what to say. He should have said no and resigned if they didn't accept it and of course thereafter he just kept digging but for it to just be him on the admin side who gets a penalty is bizarre. He's probably the least culpable IF what the DM say is true and it was more than anything his belief in his own spin ability that cost him.

2. When did Long ask Cooper about this?
3. Did the company change ingredients?
4. How many other clubs conditioners were aware of any changes?

With the substance being alleged to be used by a large number of players at Hull it would explain why people though it was necessary for a cover up. From the RFL's point of view 1 player found using a substance is not as bad for the game as 5/6/7/8/9 players found using the substance.

Fact is I know of 3 FC players (past and present) that would test positive for a banned substance. Problem is that they need to be tested!!

I question whether the RFL and UKAD are aware of it and only ban players when the hits the fan. Take G Hock for example, you telling me he's the only one to do Coke in the whole league. I think not!!!

Another sad sad day for us, it just goes to show exactly how shoddy Rule was and the wretch who employed him. They are a disgrace to the game.

Back then we owned our own stadium, we were giving debuts to many young LOCAL kids, every year a new kid would come through.

And now, we have no ground and the last local kid to debut was, Houghton? Nothing in 2011.

If i was Pearson id actually consider shedding all the drug takers at the club today and play all young local kids for the next 2 years. Its not like we'll be relegated is it?

Any past player I haven't got a problem with but if you have any information regarding a current player taking banned substances, you'd better report them to the relevant authorities.
