I think that's a good half really. 70% possession to Catalans, this game could be long dead. I think we look really slick in attack, we just need to stop giving the penalties away so we can get ourselves in the attacking areas.

If a winger is left one on one and then beaten on his outside it means the sliding defence has failed, coaches will not blame the winger in those circumstances, you defend as a team and if your winger is put in that situation it means something has gone wrong beforehand.

If Lineham had been wider in anticipation of stopping the winger then the try would have been scored between him and the centre instead.

You defend as a unit and he was hung out to dry for those tries.

Our PTB speed still isn't good enough in the main. We seem to be waiting for Catalan players to get off of their own volition before getting up to play it rather than fighting to get them off & get on with it. Both our tries came off the back of rare occasions where we did play it quickly through Paleaaesina and Heremaia.

We also need to get Rankin involved more, we seem to have mainly gone down our right even though we've had little success with it.

The problem with that defence is that on the 2nd try our entire defence was sliding to the right, as it should have been. Except Lineham, who was heading farther infield, to his left. 100% his error.

If he had been closer to the wing the try would have been scored between him and Crooks, it was a great pass but we had two defenders covering about 20 yards, our line wasn't right, there is no way Lineham could have prevented that by being in a different position.

Have you ever played RL? These things are much more apparent if you have played the game, it's easy to say as a spectator 'he should have been there to make the tackle' but it's never as simple as as that.

Nice to see some 'extra assistance' for the vid ref on offside half way through the game. The RFL is a total and complete joke.

Watch it again and use the penalty area from the football markings as a guide, Lineham doesn't move inside at all, he is static then shifts to the right. Nothing he could do there I'm afraid. Great play by Catalan and poor defence from us.
