He has been convicted. And it didn't prevent him getting a visa because he already had one. Theoretically his existing visa could have been cancelled but for whatever reason it wasn't. Getting a new one now he has a conviction is the issue.

US and UK immigration law is quite different. And the green card isn't a direct equivalent of the working visa that Chase has.

I know that, what I am saying is that if his criminal conviction prevents him from getting a visa for us then he really shouldn't be allowed to remain in the UK, plenty of other countries (including the US) will cancel your visa if you misbehave. As usual we tend to muddle it.

What I also learned when trawling through US immigration law is if you get the right lawyer they can make a big difference, I can't imagine its much different in that respect over here.

The type of conviction is relevant, as per the immigration rules. Just because a conviction means you can't get a new visa doesn't mean your current one gets cancelled. That's just the way the UK operates

Chases current visa only runs to the end of his last contract, not his current one. If he stays with cas he will have to apply for a new visa at the end of next season anyway. If he can't get one for Hull now with expensive lawyers pushing his case he's not going to get it renewed next year anyway. Cas are sat on a worthless commodity if he stays, its in their interest for his visa application with Hull to be successful.
