| Hopefully the snowball is starting to roll a little bit faster !! , The dirt around the stadium concourse is disgusting and Im sure public health inspectors should be made aware of the issues now blighting the KC stadium .

| If you take the tribal emotion out of it it comes down to this.
The KCOM stadium is a publicly owned asset.
The Council appointed the SMC as its custodian, presumably to manage its operation for the benefit of both tenants, and to preserve its condition and value for the taxpayer. It seems to be failing on both counts.
As has long been the case the Council seemingly has no interest or appetite in holding them to account - the Allams have good expensive lawyers I would expect. We have seen today the council advise people to flag concerns to the SMC but no interest in getting involved. Rather than taking them to task over their failure to deliver, they simply advise fans of the sub lessees to send an email, which they fully know will be ignored, in a misspelt tweet. Beyond weak.
So in effect we are knackered. No leverage, no protection from the council, no realistic alternative.

| Thing is, if I remember rightly, the management of the SMC was thrown in as a sweetener originally when AP took over City. It should have been set up as a stand alone entity from the outset, but Hull CC haven’t managed their asset at all since it’s been built, and they seem to be washing their hands of it now as well.

We were given the option to be part of the SMC, but it was not financially viable, so we declined the offer.

Think Shane Richardson didn’t want to put the required money in at the time.
Just think the Council should have created an SMC with representation from all parties.
I know they didn’t want the hassle of running a stadium but they’re reaping what they’ve sown.

It wasn't exactly a sweeter. Actually in 2001 after the Council had approached several stadium management agencies to run the place and none were willing to take it on (down to the size of the place the potential gate projections for both teams and the fact that there were a lot of stadiums and arenas coming on stream and not too many large scale facility management companies around) Shane Richardson and Adam were approached to run it together for the Council. Richo however wasn't interested at all, he had enough on with Hull FC and it was too much of a financial, commitment for us back then plus he was planning to return to Australia anyway and so Adam took it on. With the Council agreeing to maintain the place. Soon this became too much of a burden on the Councils revenue provision and the SMC agreed to take on the maintenance of the stadium in exchange for the Council relinquishing any control they had over the running of the place. Thus the current situation and the Councils inability to do anything about what is happening now. From then on the Smc was linked to the owner of the football club and sold with Hull City as the football club changed hands.

It's Jordan Belfort the original Wolf of Wall Street (the Scorsese film starring Leonardo de Caprio was based on his memoirs).
Reports say that he's $100m in debt so maybe City supporters shouldn't get too excited,

| Funny how the local BBC haven't mentioned it, any other place and it would be all over the news I remember Burns a while ago kicked off on twitter about a taxi driver who didn't have a mask on yet nothing about a public health issue during a national pandemic absolute hypocrites who say anything against the Smc as they own City.

| We can moan and vent our anger over this until doomsday, but it will not change for the better. You have seen the Allam's negotiation technique and it is hardly what could be described as fair or reasonable. As they acted when the name change was opposed, so I would think they will actually ramp up the pressure and be even more unreasonable the longer this goes on, they are businessmen and are hard nosed and spiteful people with no regard for public opinion. It is what it is, we can either take it, or leave it, at the appropriate time. Until then, things will not change for our good.

| Perhaps a long shot, but Simon Jordan’s comment about’maybe one day’ re Hull City. Obviously, he now has family links with the City.
Also in his book, Jordan speaks highly of dealing with Adam when taking Peter Taylor to Crystal Palace. Saw Adam as one of the better Club owners with a bit of integrity, unlike others.
We can but hope, would be nice if Hull City, Hull FC and the SMC could all work together for the benefit of each other.

That is unfortunately where HCC cocked up with the deal they made in terms of the SMC, they just never thought it through as to what might happen should the amicable working relationships at the beginning become less so or if someone came in that had other ideas/motives etc.
Though nothing surprises me with HCC when it comes dodging the issue and ignoring it in the hope it will go away.

Well believe or not but an estimated £16m shortfall on their local government revenue support grant from central government for the authorities revenue expenditure on the provision of essential services (never mind the discretionary ones) at the time, undoubtably focused their thinking on maintaining a Sports stadium a bit.

I'm not doubting what you've been told. But neither do I believe that there was no choice in a negotiation but to lose control over every aspect of operations. It's like paying off your mortgage, employing a letting agency and saying see you in 50 years, hope my property is still standing. Seems crappy negotiation that.

Not easily due to the weather, outdoor gigs in Britain are generally May-September. A fancy design with say a rollout pitch would add a lot to the cost.

Its hard to know what their end game is. At the moment City fans are happier than they were, the team has just been promoted the squad is more stable than the last few years and the wage bill is low by Championship standards...but I can't see them investing a lot of cash so they are likely to bounce between the Chamoionship and League1 and the fans will get grumpy again at that prospect.

A promotion to the prem will see the former Tigers but current Liverpool/Man U/Leeds fans return to the Tigers faithful once more.
With all the promotions and relegations it's difficult to work out where there loyalties lie.
City till I die.....

| If City get off to a poor start, the moaning and groaning will soon start again.
I can see McCann and Ehab getting heat if they go on a losing run. Not that the Allams are bothered.

I agree. Don’t think the Allams will ‘invest’ in getting back to the premier league. That’s why I believe they’ll hang around waiting for conditions at the stadium to become so bad the council decide to sell.
