| How embarrassing is this thread?
How can a cowardly act by a French Rovers player become a ing contest about the atrocities suffered in WW2 and the relative levels of knowledge of history of those entering that doomed debate?
The pathetic person who came on here and steered the conversation in that direction is to be pitied, can only assume it's his acute misery from yesterday's 20 minute wipe-out that prompted this unwise deflection. Desperation. Just ignore it.

You may do. I never have.
And diving draws 'moral outrage' in RL because it's cowardly and dishonest in a sport that prizes courage and honesty (although it often falls short). Similar outrage is expressed for cheap shots and deliberate attempts to injure.
Quote ="Burtons Forearm"You took some of the offensive post down. I hope that was through moral choice and not your duty as a moderator.'"

Thank you. I would suggest you go to St Petersburg not only because it's a beautiful city but you get more of an education of what went on rather than watching the history channel.
No doubt as a student of history you will know that it was St Petersburg - Petrograd - Lenningrad. I sometimes find that the history channel isn't as informative as it could be.
You are trying to impress me with your deep knowledge of history and the current atrocities that go on in the world. Well done. I do know and am appalled by it just like you.. It also seems that you are trying to deflect the insult you made to this Country in your earlier post.
Back to my point. You used the word "Luckily" whether in context or not it was a poor choice of word which if you had anything about you should retract and apologise.
Now back to Rugby.

This is all I found in your opening post to do with the subject before going on a little rant about racism and the war:
[i"A guy that size playing this game and someone calls him a coward. He looked real cowardly tackling Pritchard and dropping him 1-1."[/i
I don't care how big or small someone is. Diving is cowardly. If your view is that it's OK because he's small, then I'm glad you're not in charge.
Quote The bigger moral picture does bother me. It's of no surprise that it bothers no one else. This is born out throughout history. People ignoring bigger moral issues .it leads to the shovelling of Jewish people into gas ovens and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and others.
I'm sorry it bores you.'"
When did I say it bores me? When did I say it doesn't bother me? I didn't. No one else has. Get off your high horse.
People aren't ignoring it because they don't care. They're ignoring it because they've come on a rugby forum to talk about the rugby, not the World War! Seriously, get over yourself.
If you don't want to talk about the rugby, go on a different forum.
Quote Boudebza embarrasses no one. His bravery in going on the pitch given his stature says enough for me.'"
He's embarrassed a lot of people. Ex-pros (including ex-Rovers players at that) are embarrassed. But you're not. Because it's OK to cheat because he's small and that's brave enough, bless him. How patronising are you?
Your whole point seems to be "he's already really brave because he's a small man playing a big man's game, so he can do what he likes that others would consider cowardly."
Have I got that right?
I'm not interested in discussing the War. Talk about the rugby. Was the diving and the ball throwing cowardly? Yes or no?

My last comment you'll all be glad to know.
For clarity.
Boudebza is called a coward and a French c+nt. See thread title. People on here then wish him crippled for two years.
This I find unpleasant. I'm not the only one thankfully.
I try and point out that the French despite 'Banter' and popular myth are indeed not a cowardly nation (none are) and use Hull´s experience in the wars as an example to compare against theirs (a reference that there maybe some common knowledge of on here).
Cue moral outrage on a level way above the criticism of the other vile comments and ignorance some have shown.
I then respond to these outbursts having the hope that some don't see my point because of who I support and I hope to stop further xenophobic outpouring on this thread.
The issue of Mr. Boudebza's height.
The act of diving.....cheating yes on occasion, sometimes done to avoid dangerous contact yes, deceitful yes on occasion, cowardly no.
There are despicable acts on a rugby field...see Chris Burton, Ben Westwood, Ben Flower (cowardly and sadistic punching an unconscious man) etc etc. The coaching and condoning of pressure on joints which endanger fellow players. I don't see Briscoe or Hunte jumping to address these issues yet someone diving does. Weird.
I used his height as an obvious 'measure' for his personal questionable courage.
All combat sports and many others have weight categories. Why because weight and height brings huge advantages (ask Conner McGregor). Seeing Boudebza tackle very effectively the likes of Pritchard etc leads me to think he is a brave man.
I was saddened by our defeat but not as much by some of the comments on here.
I'll let the comments that follow speak for themselves.

| Shocking from Boudebza. I would give him a 1 match ban as the RFL need to nip this sort of antic in the bud. Football attitudes are creeping into our game unfortunately. (Bateman throwing a tantrum against Widnes , Sneyd haranguing the linesman also v Widnes) Don't need it.

Exactly we don't want diving creeping Into this game, we will leave that to footballers. The only way to stop players doing it is to ban them.

Oh get a grip you silly man.
What's xenophobic about calling a Frenchman ermm, French? The cheese eating surrender monkey thing was a dig at him 'surrendering' to the temptation to cheat and fall over rather than stand up to the tackle. It's banter, no worse than calling northerners 'flat capped pipe smokers' or Aussies calling us Pommies.
The stupid post wishing him injury was revolting and soon jumped on, rightly, but the rest of it is you making a mountain out of a molehill with the soil you're digging out of that hole you've made for yourself.
There was no need to start drawing comparisons with war - there are no moral winners in war, merely enforced bravery and suffering on all sides. Your analogy was embarrassing and your reaction suggests you're the sort of person who would run to fetch a sledgehammer when a picture falls off the wall.
