Still hard to believe that Briscoes situation is so quiet

makes me think the RU rumours are true, its the off-season for the RU clubs and maybe they are waiting til nearer the start of the season to announce it.

Who's to say we wasn't in for Masoe? But I agree I hope we were in for him.
Thompson from Cas isn't a player we should be looking at IMO. We have enough squad players and that's all he is, or would be I be signs for us. We need to be signing a few more top end players to add to the few we've already got.

IMO we have too much quantity and not enough quality. We have youngsters that would do a steady job in case of injuries and we have paying some players a decent wage to not be in the starting line-up. I'd like to see us get rid of a few and bring in quality. For example I'd happily exchange Johnson & Galea for a -hot prop or second rower. Nothing against them players, it's just that I think we have too many average steady players.

I think you have a good point. In fairness AP and PG said at the start that we needed some players to bridge the gap between first team pros and the good quality U16s/19s coming through. The progression of the 'first crop' of young players under Gentle has probably gone a bit better than was estimated in terms of development time and quality so we are left a little bit over stocked with 'fair' senior players. Like many I'd hope that we now start picking up a smaller number of higher quality players as we progress onwards. Definitely another prop required next year otherwise we wont be strengthening in an area that we need to with only Paea coming in and the ogre retiring.
