IIRC most of us ridiculed Motu (who I assume you're talking about) or at least the apparently policy of playing him there, and had collective panic attacks whenever he was named there, and Briscoe was stuck out on the Wing (where he was equally crap).

Obviously a smokescreen to take the edge off the hostility from rovers surrounding his signing for Hull. I have it on good authority that he told rovers he wanted a pie in the sky figure so they'd drop interest and he could sign for us for significantly less
