Pearson bought Hull FC on July 22nd 2011
Gentle was announced as coach on 12th September 2011, he has been in charge for 19 games since he arrived.
Pearson has bankrolled more investment in youth and development in less than a year than Kath and Cronies ever did.
Patientce is a virtue we all need for this season, and possibly even next.

My only concern is whether pearson leaving hull city in acrimonious circumstances has changed his appetite for our club and hull in general.

I very much doubt it, if anything, he'll want to be the most successful team playing at the KC.

I very much doubt it, he was 'forced' out of Hull City once before, although that it was ultimately his decision to sell I understand the board 'encouraged' him to to do so.
That didn't stop him returning and saving City for a second time.
The man is a fantastic sports businessman, he took City from league 2 nobodies to an established championship team. He then saved Derby from destruction, bringing in new investors and securing their future, before returning to Hull and doing exactly the same.
He it's no secret he prefers to own a club, while at city he witnessed the mismanagement and potential at FC, identified how little money is involved and the low risks of running a RL club rather than a football club and so picked us as his new project.
He doesn't move on until his work is done and given our recent results I'd say the job is far from done!

We are 2 points off 3rd place with a game in hand over the 2 teams directly above us ffs!! Yes we have thrown points away recently but who would not have taken 3 points off Saints, a draw with Warrington, a derby victory, a Leeds victory and only 5 defeats from 16 games at the start of the season???

Absolutely right. Whilst it's disappointing to lose games in the manner we have, we would have all taken our current position at the start of the season. I'm sure PG will have really let the team know how he feels (in private) and that we can expect improved performances from hereon in.

One way of looking at it I suppose. Another would be 2 wins from the last 8 games and 4 very difficult games coming up

| I think the league table is one of the most exciting it has been for several years at this stage, apart from Wigan top 4 really is wide open, still every-thing to play for.

Exactly, it looks fine now, it won't after the next 4 games or so. We needed the easy points against rovers/wakey before going into this period in which no matter what form we are in, we would expect to loose a couple of games.

That depends whether Gentle can reproduce our early season form, if he can we can compete with any-one on the day.

Not convinced we were that good earlier in the season. We were defending much better but have been dropping off late in matches all season and our attack has been average at best

I don't disagree we do lack in our offensive game, however when we played Whiting with Seymour against Leeds we scored some sublime tries and appeared to do it with ease, also when we played the dobbins at our place we played a good offensive game. I think if we can get our defensive game back we can build from there and hopefully gain some confidence to score. For me the major issue is we appear to have gone backwards from playing from 80 mins a game at the beginning of the season to approx 60 mins recently.
Mind the thing that has impressed me with Gentle was his rotations however they baffled me a bit on Sunday, I also felt the game-plan was wrong.

gentle is a new coach and this is his first "crisis". Hopefully he'll show his mettle and we'll come through it but I do think the fixture list was kind to us in the first half of the season and when it evens up we'll be around 7th to 9th depending on how leeds and bradofrd do for the rest of the season. Losing our full back has had a massive negative impact on us

I think one of the things which could be in our favour is that other teams are having problems of their own, like you say Leeds & Bradford, however Wire appear to be a 50/60 minute team at the moment, Huddersfield are doing their usual fall to bits gig, Saints have not been consistent (however I think they could settle and pose a massive threat to teams), Cats are not consistent when travelling, KR never looked the dominant team against us, I gather they did well 2nd half against Wire, and played well last night so at this stage they are as inconsistent as the rest. We can only hope we settle down and find some form before the other teams do. If Gentle sorts it in the next couple of weeks top 4 is still not out of the question, if he doesn't well like you say 7th-9th.

But then we played them both in the halves away at London and were awful, so I don't think Whiting is the answer at 6.

Exactly that was a gameplan especially for the Leeds game, targetting one of their weaknesses. Not sure why everybody thinks it would work for every team.

Rovers could be bottom of the pile and having the worst run in 100 years and it still would never be 'easy points' for us!!!! That is why I prefer them to be a decent team so at least they take points from other top teams too, which they are doing
