Same here. The response is pretty angry and I wonder if he should have calmed down, thought, counted to ten and then made his statement. He clearly has a pretty big axe to grind, but softly softly and all that.

No problem with him asking to meet the new chairman, or sticking his two penn'orth in as to how RL should be run, but I think he should have kept his counsel a bit, as Coddy says.

As I've posted elsewhere, I have a feeling that there were some other issues - not in the public domain - that he wanted to test at the tribunal. He may have expected to lose given that he clearly has no trust for the RFL or their processes, but felt that he should put the case forward anyway.

I have to say that I was a little uneasy about the clear conflict of interest regarding the Widnes vote myself. Still - if enough chairmen had shared that unease they would have voted against the deal.

So another Gobby owner/chairman gets made to look foolish and still stamps his feet and out goes the Teddy.
As for the snipes at GH and his influence at the RFL by the few on here you clowns would love a Chairman who knows what he's doing and how to build a successful RL Club and Team.

Thats a key point. Pearson was shouting from the rooftops about how the player was tapped up and said Agar was a key part of it so why has nothing been mentioned of this?

Because the RFL's first instinct is to sweep stuff like that under the carpet - and not only when Leeds are involved. They go out of their way to bury or avoid anything that might be controversial. Even if AP had some evidence to present to the tribunal they were always going to ignore it when the rule quoted gave them an easy get out clause.

And for those who seem happy to assume this was based solely on the issue mentioned publicly, you might want to ask yourselves why it took the RFL 6 months to come to a verdict on such an apparently open-and-shut case. You might also ask what these 'serious allegations' are that were apparently levelled at Gary Hetherington and the Rhinos, because in public at least it's all been about Kath, Agar, and our former BOD.

Well if Pearson knew the rules and knew what the eventual outcome was going to be it seems strange if his motive was to cause a stir at the RFL, its hardly going to help him and Hull going forward his actions and post result reactions. If a carbon copy case comes up next year will people think its a case of boy who cried wolf?

Good player, obviously. Will do well for Hull if he's fit and wouldn't have minded him back at Leeds on a reasonable wage that didn't mean we'd lose any rising stars. Hull wanted to spend more and that's fine. Ellis wanted a bumper last contract and that's alsofine. Still don't think that's a point to Pearson though, especially if you lose Manu and Turner because of it.

That being the case, the only reason i could imagine for doing this would be to put those reasons in the public domain. Otherwise seems utterly pointless

I would hope Hull FC could be a bit more circumspect and concentrate a bit more themselves and the undoubted improvements they as a club need to, and can make.

Bradford have spent 6 years blaming the previous administration and have even hidden behind the big bad Leeds distraction, but it didnt get them anyway.

The difference between this Leeds Organisation and others in SL, and Leeds previously, is instead of looking for excuses and looking to lay blame they have taken control of what they can and changed it, and swallowed the things they cant and moved on and found a different way.

When Bradford took Harris, we had a case, stood by it, and took it on. When Canterbury took Eastwood, or even Newcastle took Buderus, we put didnt really have a defence, so we took it and found a way to win without them.

If Pearson is going to concentrate on blaming the previous administration, big bad Leeds, the RFL and whoever when things go wrong, then that way Bradford leads.

Or he could take his medicine, move on, and concentrate on making Hull FC a place young players want to be and bringing Hull FC's youth development up to the standard of Leeds, their first team to being as successful, there will be nothing to need to blame on anyone.

Luke Briscoe chose Leeds over Hull FC, Gareth Ellis chose Hull FC over Leeds.

I think there is more to be read into the 'terms' maybe the new deal FC offered was not all about money ? who knows .

I believe the only criteria is as RBA says is that it needs to match the current deal they are on.

I think AP will have known all of this and it was too late for him to salvage anything, but good to see that he is prepared to stand up to the powers that be and challenge the corruption in the game
