When have you ever seen players go public with negative views of coaches? Or when have you seen other managers be negative about other managers? I have seen coaches back a coach in trouble and then take their job when they get sacked.
It is called looking after your own interests. If a player comes out against Agar and he doesn't go then they will be vilified by him. A coach backs another coach knowing full well that if the same thing happens to them then that coach will then back them publicly.

You see here we go again. People are desperate to believe that the players agree with people on this forum. It's just not the case. O'Meley gave a natural reaction after the match in support of Agar.

Back in the days of John Kear, it was clear that players didnt agree with him. Remember the rumours. Kearney refusing to take a second year with Kear in charge. Swain refusing to play. Blacklock left out of the team. I like many wanted Kear out of the club. We ended up with Sharp who had initial success then tried to fundamentally transform the team. It was a disaster that we are only just recovering from. Changing the coach does not always give you your desired result.

Not saying the players agree with the view of a lot, I am just pointing out that you can take nothing from a player publicly backing a coach either.

Rumours are strive about a split camp, Orgre & Fitz are playing out of their skins and clearly back the coach, Horney is black & White through and through and will play his heart out whoever coaches the team, however a lot of players are not hitting their straps this season Tickle & Manu to name two, also Moa hardly gets on the pitch strange one that! My point is who knows if the full team back him or not, it may well be just spin.

Does anyone think that the lack of 1st team pre-season games has contributed to us starting slowly this year?

Only 1 less than last year and same as the year before when we started well so dont think it is relevant.

My friend who was with the gang with the banner says that tom briscoe stuck his thumb up to the banner behind the back of all the other players....not saying that's the truth only what my friend said but I have no reason not to believe him!

I've been posting on here for years mate but thanks for your concern. As for patronising don't worry - you tried it the other day when questioning my level of education (hons degree level university electrical and electronic engineering graduate by the way) but I ignored it as I'm sure we're above that.



As recently as today I have posted my thoughts on the rugby side of matters and where I believe we are going wrong. I've talked about defensive frailty, lack of kicking game, basics not at the required level. I've pointed out and agreed with many across the spectrum about our laughable interchange policy. Something to stress here - I talk about the game and its technicalities - I like to debate that side of things because I love RL. Many disagree with me - the odd one agrees. But I point out again - I talk rugby - I don't particularly like idle banter or enjoy getting involved in tit for tat discussion or pathetic points scoring. Constant slagging and regurgitating the same points time after time, thread after thread about Agar this Agar that.

In your case you hold the view that it's better for the team to lose just now. That is completely the antithesis of what being a fan is in my view, so just as you are happy to make your proclamations, so I will counter in return. If that comes across as 'shut up and get behind the lads' then so be it. Actually it's a view on what being a fan is but you make of it what you will.

See above. I hate these threads. However - as I said - how many different ways can the anti-Agar brigade wrap up the same opinion ? How many different ways are there of accusing the club of spin ? How many different ways are there of calling for boycotts/protests/sack the coach/board. How many ways are there of proclaiming the club is on a slippery slope to doom ? etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Sometimes I post because I am sick to the back teeth of reading the same stuff dressed up in yet another thread of a different title but precisely the same content. We have a thread about the new website but it just descends into yet another accusation of spin and alike. The officail website promoting the club - who'd have thought it eh ?

There was a perfect example of this undermining of the club last week. Sean Long in the Mail stating he'd play through the pain barrier if necessary at Hudds. Needless to say there was a furious arm waving uproar thread on here with one poster stating that this was 'a typical decision of our club at the moment'. Of course no one at the club had ever made that decision but it was deemed just fine to slag them off anyway.

And finally - my view on the coaching situation is the same as it was in January as I stated on here. Agar must improve us this season or go. I have more recently acknowledged that with the start we've had this is not going to be easy. I've said, on several occasions, that if this looks more and more unlikely as the season progresses then we should look to act more quickly especially in view of 2012 recruitment requiements. We are not at that stage yet though in my view - one that you and many others disagree with but that's fine by me. I am of the opinion that the incessant constant morass of sniping and criticism does not help anyone - least of all the players who are the ones who really count in this. I don't want the players to turn against the fans - why ? Because then we really will be in trouble.

So my view differs a bit from yours. Never mind eh ? But when you have your next pop about the content of my posts take a quick look down the board and see how many threads I started basically saying the same thing as the last one. I think you'll find not many - but where I want to comment I will - your advice notwithstanding.

All I can say is ,at this moment in time I feel at my lowest ebb as regards F.C.
The reasons are,during the last three seasons we have had little happening to lift our spirits.O.K. the double over Saints last season was something special,but it is few and far between.The Wakey game away was the height of embarressment I.M.O.
Our style of rugby,who can say they are entertained by it?
I feel envious of Wigan ,leeds,Saints and Wire when I see them on the t.v. ,open ,flowing rugby. Magic.
We have a decent squad of players ,who some of them can`t seem to hit the heights.
I am not saying we should be world beaters,but a bit of entertaining ,winning rugby wouldn`t go amiss.
Through all this though,I keep going to games,I reckon I need help.

Fantastic post. They doom and gloomers would love for anyone with a hint of positivity to stop posting so they can infest the forum even more.

Every thread is the same thing, Agar, 3 from 11 blah blah. Even a thread about the new site which should be good news has gone the same way. So tbh infesting the forum is spot on imo.

Or, it's providing some balance. Choose your viewpoint.
