sounds about right, wait till all available coaches have been snapped up and we get the usual 'there is knowone out there available'.
Noble is available now! the club need to get him before someone else does!!

I don't suppose it leave any more time to get a decent coach than if they were looking now. After all, if they haven't even discussed Agar's position yet, they certainly won't be discussing his potential replacement, much less actively looking for him.
I have an unpleasant feeling we'll get to mid season in about 8th place, the club will tell us how well Rich has done to turn things around after our poor start and we'll be stuck with him for 2012 as well.

He'll never walk, because he knows he'll never get another SL job. He's going to hang onto this one as long as is humanly possible. With this board, that could be a long time. I've nothing but respect for what they've achieved off the pitch, but I think they're consistently selling us short on the playing side.

I meant in comparison to him going at the end of the season. It would clearly be preferable if he went now or if we were at least considering that as a possibility and actively looking around.

I have the same feeling. Mind you, I'm naturally pessimistic and our recent history has only served to reinforce that.

| TBH I would have been very suprised if the club hadnt come out and say something along these lines with all the unrest amongst the fans and the board are obviously aware that the fans are not happy.
For me the board need to take a long look at themselves, credit to them they have turned this club around financially but have also been sadly lacking in the appointment of a top coach for several years. Since McRae left and the CC Final win & GF Appearance we have slowly but surely gone backwards. We have changed head coaches & players yet still have the same failings and the most been the basics that we still seem unable to get right, the only thing that has remained a constant with the playing side is Agar??
Surely Agar has been at the club long enough to have got these things right as an assistant and head coach?? He was promoted after the sackings of his Head Coaches due to their failings but surely as an assistant to both Kear & Sharp he has to have been accountable? He has even been through his fair share of assistant coaches during his tenure. It is more than apparent it is not working and no matter how hard he works he is simply just not up to the task of Head Coach.
For me the board got it wrong appointing Agar, nice guy & knowledgeable he may be, but a quality Head Coach he is not. Surely they can see he is struggling/out of his depth so why not following an example of a team on the up in Warrington and appoint a proven coach to come in and give him a hand?
After following/supporting this club for over 30 years I can safely say this is the most disappointing and despressing time as a fan especially as off the field the club has gone from strength to strength but on the pitch its gone the other way lurching from one crisis to another.
I have always been willing to give Agar my backing but for me enough is enough and after thinking long and hard about renewing my season pass I really wish I hadnt, now as I could think of many things that my money would have been better spent on.

I know a few people in that position and a few have said it on here. Sales will drop even further than they appear to have done this season if the board don't act.

| Some people are in a catch 22 situation, they shed out their hard earned money to watch a totally inept team play boring rugby league.
They want a change and want agar out, but cannot boycott because they have forked out money for season tickets, if we loose to crusaders and agar is still here, there's a couple of things we can do.
1. Boycott or do a protest
2. Bide our time and when it comes to the challange cup games, just don't turn up at all, and give the club any of our money! Although gates are not known to be that big in the challange cup games at home, unless it's a big top 4 side we play, but if we don't turn up, it's a lot of money the board will loose, after-all it's revenue, and that's where we can hit them.

| 'With Richard Horne having now returned, Hull are confident the side can soon fulfil their potential'.
If the club have actually given a green light to this press release without including a named source, then this quote concerns me.
Either the board think we are all stupid or they actually believe this and are seriously deluded themselves.
I love R Horne but people (inc the board) need to realise the guy has been playing SL since he was 16, and after all he has been through we really can't expect that much from him IMO.

Just on the criticising how Agar comes across thing I don't think it's just a way to slag him off at all. Communication skills are important to any good leader, and the way he appears on the radio and tv are an indicator of Agar's. As I said on another thread if Agar was producing results then it wouldn't matter how he comes across, but since he isn't then how he communicates becomes a relevant discussion topic IMO. It's certainly not just an attack on his personality for the sake of it, his personality is relevant to his ability to do the job.

That's rubbish. He may have got rid of some trouble makers and sacked Tansey after his 3rd offence but that isn't the same as 'instilling' a culture of discipline, if he'd managed to do that in the first place he maybe wouldn't have had to take the actions you describe.

| Absolutely gutted about this. Unlike when a football team gives the dreaded vote of confidence, I feel our board actually have confidence in Agar and will give him all the time he needs.
Quote ="Rich Agar"Whilst unhappy with the form of his team, Agar isn't too concerned yet given the quality of opposition Hull have faced.'"
So basically saying we don't have any real top 4 ambitions because there are better teams than us about, but if we make the play offs it is a successful season.
Rovers are now seen as a better team, Leeds were under strength and then got even more depleted yet it is still okay to lose to them because they are quality opposition. The only reason the Hudds game was close was because of the conditions and the fact they get drawn into forward battles too easily.
I am now going to start voting with my feet and stop going to the home games even though I am a season pass holder. I will pick and choose the bigger games and take the wife along with the match vouchers i don't use.

We just seem happy to compete and walk away from Huddersfield saying the effort was there,we only lost by 10,we matched them for a while, with all due respect were not Wakefield or Salford we lack a winning mentality

agree chris, and do you know what is frustrating? almost everything else is in place at the club - fanbase, finances, merchandising, stadium etc. surely its easier to appoint a top coach than it is to achieve some of the off field things that have occurred.
i said i would give agar a bit of time this season - however having played a derby (these games always can go either way) and 2 teams widely tipped to be in or around the top 4 we neeed to put crusaders away at the weekend, we should win this comfortably but a side scratching for a win usually means a scrappy game. if we lose this then i'm afraid i can't see where the next win is coming from
