Not being a native of Hull I have no particular preference for players that have come through the youth system. The goodwill that Horne enjoys with fans is due to his efforts for the club and impeccable behaviour IMO.

Whether Horne and FC should part ways will be down to how he performs this season in all probability - which is as it should be. There isn't any need to be talking about throwing in the towel because his contract only has a year to run in any case. There's a natural break point coming and talking about him being dumped before we've even started the season is premature to say the least.

He showed last season that when fit he still has plenty to offer. The only question for me is whether he can remain fit enough. If he can, and puts in the performances we need him to, then why would we look to get rid?

Moa's turned out to be well worth signing, and we kept Radford because we missed our other targets. I'm not sure you have any actual evidence for your claim TBH.

I'm saying we did the right thing offering him a 1 year deal as he was still a unknown quantity and with the lowering of the overseas numbers a 2 year deal was very risky. Last season he was superb and he exceeded all expectations and then some.

Quite a few people (even on here) had high expectations of him before last season started and he delivered. It wasn't surprising as even with his early fitness issues he looked the part - big impact and fast play the ball.

Can't help thinking people want Horne to be the player he was and seize on any little good thing he does as evidence that he has still got it. Sad to say it, but he's a lovely lad and one of our own but he's not been effective on the field for a long while and, with many people complaining about Berrigan's performance vs his pay who would have been better served looking at the poor value our local hero has provided in recent seasons.

On the contrary. It's become fashionable on here to belittle anything he does. Or in some extreme cases, everything he's ever done.

Attack wise he showed early last season that he still has what it takes. Defensively he didn't reach the levels of previous years (his defence was always excellent for a half) which may well have been down to a loss of some strength from illness and injury. If he gets back fit and strong he will play a big role this year. It's a big IF based upon what he's had to deal with but people should wait and see before writing him off.

For some reason, when people seem to reach a milestone or achieve something of importance, this is the case. Not just for Hull, but I think throughout sport. I don't understand it, myself.

Some tough decisions ahead for the club and for Horne this year . With the potential of some big signings for the 2012 season .He needs to play the vast majority of games this coming season to stand any chance of a contract offer for 2012.

Get Horny to fullback and drop Tansey. Simples!! Rich shouldn't be defending too much so his body wont take as much of a battering. He can catch, has good feet and support play and he can defend when needed to. He isn't as fast as he once was but look at wellens. He is solid at the back and can come up with big plays!

He played abit part at fullback in the playoff game against Rovers at KC and I felt for him, he got nailed a few times by Newton, to me he looked like he didnt want to be there.

NO, NO, NO!!!! Did you not see the play off game? Granted he has not played FB for some time, but he is not a FB. His body would not last 10 games at FB.

Dont want to seem so negative about Horne, because I used to really rate him and he has/is a fantastic servant to the club and will always give 100%. I have no doubts he can still preform to a good standard, as his early form last year showed. However, he is just too injury prone now, and as a club we can no longer pin our HOPES on him playing week in, week out. How can we ever get a settled partnership in the halves while he is our first choice 6. I think if he plays 15+ games next season, then we should offer him a new one year deal, but on massively reduced terms and we should look at him as a utility/cover.

Spoke to Rich today, hes very confident of being fit for Cardiff.

Think it would be a mistake to play him at Cardiff if he does not figure in the friendlies.

He wont play any part in either friendly, so he has to start somewhere and im happy with that being Cardiff.You only have to look back at the "hit" he took coming back in a Wembley cup final.
