because £2 off won't attract anyone new, it'll just be the usual walk-up crowd getting a small discount. So as marketing schemes go its pretty pointless.

hell of alot of season tickets in south stand and it is usually quite full anyway. A big game against leeds would just make it about full anyway?

This is a game that shouldn't require any marketing at all. It's one of the biggest games of our season and we should get a cracking crowd regardless of any discounts the club give out.

£2 off a South Stand ticket might not sound a lot but it's something the club didn't have to do and as such should be seen as a nice gesture, not a chance to have a go.

I for one want to stay a supporter of a profit building club and with the way the SMC agreement works, giving away mass discounts will not keep us that way.

All season ticket holders who have vouchers for games not attended should cash them in and invite friends and family. Don't be left with unused tickets in your pass.

Why is it??? As I said, this is one of the biggest games of the season so far. Okay, maybe to say no marketing at all was daft but it shouldn't require much at all and certainly not money off gimmicks. Save those for the Quins and Catalan games.

Totally agree with that....it is not only the last home game of the regular season but arguably the biggest game of the season so far, I was surprised at the £2 discount and believe it is a very good gesture....
I am sure the PR machine will go into overdrive for this game.

I didn't mean money off or anything by marketing the game, I was meaning more about hyping it up to try and catch some floating fans. The job Wigan do for hyping their 'Big Ones' games is superb.

As for money off etc i'm surprised the club have never done a 'Big 4 Pass' which would just be tickets for the Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Wire games with say a £10 saving if purchased at the start of the season instead of turning up on game day and paying at the turnstiles.

In that case you misunderstood my meaning, I was replying to the above comment which was having a go at the £2 off South Stand tickets promotion.
Indeed, or even go as far as resurrecting the the 7 games pass. This was ideal for those who worked shifts and may have to miss a few or those who couldn't make games after Sky had switched them. It would be a guaranteed income and people who didn't bother to buy a full pass because of the above reasons would be more likely to turn up when otherwise bad weather or just can't be bothereditis kicks in after a long week at work means they don't turn up and pay on the gate.
