Was the 'shoot the rovers scum' song sung?
I would've thought that people would have had a little bit more decency to sing that when Rob Purdham was playing especially as the death of Gary is so recent.

I was part of the stag party and would like to put the record straight that it was absolutely nothing to do wih us. As correctly said earlier, it was a disagreement over a song sung in poor taste, no punches thrown and all over in 30 seconds. It involved a prominent poster on here and i'm sure he will put his slant on things shortly and put this to bed.

Barely anything happened and the over reaction on both here and the radio has been unbelievable!!

We were behind the sticks I didn't notice anything till some one pointed it out ..Saw the stag party and the Rovers fan he just took the singing in good fun ..If people call that a fight there want to get out more .. Didn't see anything else and we had a drink near the Quins Supports Bar and a chat with a lot of the Quins fans even wish us a safe journey home Plus Kath H add a joke with my wife who trip going into the loo the wife told her she had only drank Pepsi Max's and Kath had a smile on her face

Like I said, it was in close proximity to us and although behind us seemed to be all over in less than a minute. Hardly a mass brawl. We had the kids with us and never felt the need to move. Not something you particularly want to see, but the reaction is OTT IMO.

My thoughts exactly, I had my 2 kids with me and it seemed over before we knew it. Don't think the kids even realised anything was going on.

The lad in the HKR shirt was the stag and is a Hull FC East Stand season ticket holder

The majority of the stag party are season ticket holders. Our Red and white mate is the stag and a big Hull FC fan......that was his forfeit for the day

I'm his best man and believed me it killed him to wear a Rovers shirt but it was all good fun, there was lots of banter but the sp called fight was nothing to do with any of us. As for the so called brawl it was a disagreement and was over in 30 seconds. It was nothing.

rl as a sport attracts a hell of a lot of scummy people, the hull teams more than most others. people shouldn't be suprised that when said scummy people have a few stellas they swear and fight and general act like s. it'll never change.

Too many ed up people at the game, but I am not one to judge on that score, but was pretty much sober! Onlly thing I saw that annoyed me slightly was the idiotic bird on the pitch at the end, but we all got to see almost everything she had to offer so all was well

I took offence to the fans behind me singing, go get your fathers gun, and shoot the rovers scum when quins were behind the posts after conceding a try and Rob Purdham was in there amongst them after everything the guy has been through

Thought the song was sang in bad taste and actually told some fans in the bar before the game about singing the song there after what went on, i asked them to show some respect for the guy but was met with a load of abuse and said they didn't know what i was on about and who had died, but then again the drunken state they was in maybe had something to do with

Maybe i over reacted i don't know but just realy thought the song was sung in bad taste and some people should have a bit more respect, if i offended anyone i apologise but i must say there has been a total over reaction on here imo

I agree with the post in respect that yes you should have a view that the fans singing the song are insensitive, idiots etc...But there is no point in remonstrating with the idiots as you get a situation which occurred on Saturday.
