| Quote ="thehullwhitestar"Losing to our petty little neighbours would be yet another huge kick in the nads but the result on Friday, for me, is irrelevant with regard to Agar's future. The squad should be able to play that game without a coach.
Agar's inability is now there for almost all to see and a win at Craven Palace, as good as it would be, will say nothing about our coach.'"
agree with you there whitestar, if we win by 50 on friday, doesnt say anything about Agar, the team should be up for this regardless, the matches after the derby will say more about Agar as a coach, but the sooner he departs our club the better ill feel

How many British SL coaches are there that haven't already had a go at the job?

| Hope Agar will do the decent thing and bring Hall back for the Derby, I can,t think of any good reason he,s was left out against salford unless Agar thought 2 easy pts, or is it the blatantly obvious one that he doesn,t rate Hall

Hall's not from Featherstone. As for the England job, it shows how poor coaching is in this country if they're interviewing Richard Agar.

| What surprises me about this thread (and the one that appears every week) is that the views expressed don't seem to reflect the opinion of the majority of supporters where I sit at the KC - if you ask them for their views on Agar. As an example, at the end of last season someone at the back tried to start up a chant of "Agar out" and he was jeered and told to sit down by many people in that section of the crowd =#0000BFand not one person joined in with him.
Is there a silent majority out there who are prepared to give him more than eight matches when currently the team is on the same points as the fourth placed team, eight points above the bottom team and only four points off the top?

Personally I would not chant Agar out. I don't want him sacked I just don't want his contract renewed at the end of the season.

That ain't gonna happen though, the CC would not be enough imo but GF would change things. We need a top class manager for our club and until we do I don't think we will compete with the top 2/3 sides. I'd love Agar to prove me wrong but I see absolutely no evidence of this so far.

I think all FC fans would agree, apart from a few of his staunchest cheerleaders, Agar is tactically inept, and that is a major problem for a coach at the highest level. As I have said on other threads, this isn't just about Agar, it's about a general lack of investment in coaching for years, there is no wonder we haven't developed a major talent in the last 10 years (possibly longer).
I sincerely hope with the reducing quota and a relatively settled squad 2011 will be the season that Hull FC spend their biggest expense on a proven, top class coach who has not only won things, but been the ultimate professional, coaches with loose tongues and fast texting fingers are NOT the ingredients for regular top 2 finishes.
If we can't/don't get someone of the quality of Hasler/Kearney then I'll be disappointed.

| If Agar wins us the CC and we finish in the play off, i would be happy to give him another 1 Year contract.
Problem is CC final and play off are in Aug and Sep, could be wait until then?
Too much of a risk for me.
The month of April is a massive month for Agar IMO, this could make or break him as Hull FC's coach.

Said the same last season when the personal insults were flying around on here there was no evidence of unrest or chanting etc. I'm not sure how representative a few posters on here are - certainly the extreme arguments for and against Agar (mostly against) that you see on here are not evident amongst fans at home or away games in my experience.

From where I sit week in week out at the KC amongst families and older supporters EVERYONE wants rid of Agar and has done for some time, you get to know those you see every home game and they certainly would agree that agar is NOT the way forward, as for away matches I can say 150% that no one around me at Salford wears agar coloured specs !!!

as would all of us!!! however as you just noted we see one step forwards against Hudds, Saints etc and then 3 steps backwards...
consistency is everything in sport.....
Alex Fergusons interview this morning after MU being beaten in Germany was the sign of a great leader when he said " we have a simple execution of play plan that we use every match to great effect,, then for some reason last night we simply gave away too much ball and looked like no one listened in the pre match briefing..(where have we seen that before however it was this statememnt that sets aside the greats when he said)
I shall take a day off as will the players and i will ask them to look at themselves as I will do to myself and we shall have a talk about it when we return with the other coaching staff and those that dont have the right attitude will be replaced, there is no sentiment for failure at manchester United"
Cmon Agar use a masters tactics!!

By the very nature of things this forum is not going to be representative of the sentiments of the 10,000 FC fans who regularly turn up for our home games. The sample is too small for one thing, and for another internet forums tend to have a higher percentage of people who hold 'extreme' views than the general population.
Mind you, your chosen method of comparison seems rather odd. Just because people don't want to start chanting 'Agar out' at home games doesn't mean that they're happy with the coach or want him to continue in the job.
