Now that sounds like a song to me - hows the tune go?
Back to the original topic and I have to agree with Baldy. Before Rovers got in superleague it was "Well all hate Leeds" why can't we just sing Hull songs?

| Quote ="garroway"i was saying that last night about "THAT SONG", it really annoys me because at saints every one was on song, i watched it back on sky and the noise from the hull end was amazing. Why cant we generate that kind of atmosphere at home
I sit in the east stand unreserved section and obviously have a few beers, I chant whatever i can and if its not "THAT SONG" people look at me as though ive got 9 eyes..."SHIRLEY CUT YOUR HAIR, SHIRLEY SHIRLEY CUT YOUR HAIR"..."CRACK POT CRACK POT CRACK POT" to waturia... Even the old classic, "BRISCOE/BERRO/LONGY GIVE US A WAVE"...Its as if people are afraid to join in... "THAT SONG" "COME ON YOU ULL" twice and and 1 poxing verse of old faithful is not good enough in my opinion

You always getter better vocal support away from home. Thats why i love going to away matches more than home ones.

| I think it's crucial to reaffirm at EVERY opportunity our hatred of our neighbours to ensure that folk associated with the club get the passion.
Peter Sharp never got it and we suffered that horrendous humiliation under his reign. Often you'll get the overseas players going on the the Mail prior to a derby that "it's just another game" and "we'll treat them just the same as every other team" well THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
The 80's Kiwis didn't understand when they first arrived but my God they soon learnt. Hearing them speak the other year that rivalry really motivated them and it's one of the major memories they still hold dear.
Perhaps it's a consequence on being a child and a teenager in the middle of Threepenny but to me every derby is a MUST WIN GAME and every Hull player, coach and board member must appreciate that fact and how bluddy awful it is for weeks afterwards when we lose.
If that means a rendition of "little boy" or "the Pope" (my personal favourite) once a week to instill that to the people at the club not born in Hull then so be it.
(But I agree - more than once in a match that's not against Rovers is over-egging it a bit.)

I love the sentiment in your post. Ask Liverpool fans to stop hating Everton, Rangers to stop hating Celtic, Wigan to stop hating St Helens.
Is it going to happen? No!
Most importantly, ask the great unwashed to stop hating us. To the regiment.......

| i dont see any problem with it at all and when i took my lad to his first game it was the first song he had the balls to join in with and not feel a bit silly . does it matter what we sing as long as we are singing , it means the team are doing well , too many games at home for the last two yearts its been far too quiet

| Just surprised people are happy for their kids to use the word "scum", that's all.
Still it's all in fun, eh.
It gets sung more than Old Faithful FFS, which one is supposed to be the club anthem?

Jesus Christ. When you think of some of the songs that used to get sung in the 3d stand, it's incredibly mild. Some would argue that the rush to ban any foul language in songs has at least contributed to the lack of singing we currently see at home games. Some of the old classics have been deemed unsuitable and you seem to want to add this to the list as well.
We'd better add 'We All Hate Leeds' to that as well - even when we're playing them. Despite the fact that supporters mingle in and outside of the ground and often share a beer etc, use of the word 'hate' is wrong when discussing fellow supporters, even if it is only in a song and you don't really mean it.
Anything other than 'We Love You FC', 'Come on you Ull' and 'Old Faithful' should be totally sanitised in case somebody, somewhere takes offence.
Quote ="ComeOnYouUll"It gets sung more than Old Faithful FFS, which one is supposed to be the club anthem?'"
This is a more pertinent point.

Old faithful was the most sung song on Friday, so that last bit is made up.
What is a matter with you people ffs, its all in good fun and helps contribute to the atmosphere.

| Going Down the Boulevard made a couple of comebacks away at Saints last week - and long may it continue.
At h-t other night, they played , whats that coming over the hill, is it a monster. Think we should insert Lauiki there. Spurs used to do it with Chimbonda.
Do need a little variation these days I feel.
