| Quote ="Monko"I remember going into the Threepenny stand in the late 70's early 80's when I was around 10 years old. I would stand with my Dad near the half way line and always behind us was a man everyone refered to as 'THE GOB'. He was tall and thin with long scruffy hair and i think he had a beard. He always wore a blue denim jacket with a faded Hull shirt underneath. This fella had a really deep gruff voice and always had the fans around him laughing out loud. He said the funniest things and his insults towards the opposition made me laugh even though I didn't always know what he meant. Whenever I think about the old Threepenny stand The Gob and the burning of Rovers scalves always come to mind.'"

| Remember back in the 60's when my dad used to take me in 3d's and all the empty beer bottles lined on the ledge up at back of 3d's. Happy days.

| Remember playing Wigan in the mid 80's some bloke in the threepenny stand was shouting Andy Gregory all game.It was only in the dying seconds of the game he replied what and the bloke in the stand shouts,"Your a Wa##er."Even brought a smile to Gregorys chubby face.

| In the 60's I used to go with my mate and his father. After the game he used to go in the supporters club for a couple of pints so me and my mate used to collect the empties from Threepennies and take them back to the off license for the refund on returned bottles.
The club should make more if threepenny stand now. I've a polo shirt with "Threepenny Stander Forever" on it. A 3d range of clothing my go down well. Certainly a part of the clubs history the club should not allow to die.

| Little bald headed bloke with a limp.He must have had one leg shorter than the other and he wore a built up shoe.He always had a carrier bag in his hand(loved to have known what was in it) and he used to shout his head off at the ref and the opposition.Good supporter though, always at the ground,A-team,first team, he was always there.

| I was a bit young to remember the charachters as such but a guy went in called Dave Harold and he was mental for it.
I remember tries being scored and everyone falling around you and there would be this big gap in the stand and you could actually see wood.
I was there for the first crowd under 10,000 v York I think in 1984/5 ?
The coin throwing into the blankets was also mad and I just have this vision of p*ss and various ways to have one without losing your spot for too long. Bit further on was the Shane Rich era and his campaign to stop swearing. That first home game v Bradford was a laugh - they came out and 3d started singing "what the f--ing hell is that" really LOUD and audible. Shane may as well have not bothered but I have heard him swear every other word at a steward for letting some ex A-team player from 1958 in for free.

Mick Phillips... A good mate of mine. His name appears on the song "Hessle Road" by whoever it was. We had such a laugh with him.....always went in the club bar off Airlie street before a game... to the "bottle bar"... got tanked up then fought our way to the back of 3d stand... always remember David Barends for Bradford on our wing... and signalling to us he was well endowed !!
