When England play France I would be inviting Widdop for a look around the KC and for a chat, maybe he wont leave the NRL next season, but it wouldnt do us anyharm to make a good impression, if he does think about coming to SL, guess he wouldnt count on the quota either.

Agree, I posted yesterday that if Berro stays (which I think he will), he could move to the centre and be the 2nd choice hooker, it will be his final year so I would suspect it is a time for the handover to take place any-way.. Houghton appears to play more minutes than berro quiet comfortably, I reckon he could do 80.
Maybe we have a youngster who could make a step up ?

I just don't get the berrigan bashing, over the last two seasons he's been our best player.

i would prefer if he left if this happened.we could use his salary somewhere else.

Not so sure he will, he looks very handy at centre a position which we need to cover.

Why would be dilute Danny's strengths and not use him as an impact hooker for 40 mins? Yes he's looked great playing longer spells of late but i firmly believe we are still better bringing him on for the last 20 mins of each half to use his pace around the ruck.

We could do with a Cunningham type of hooker to play the 1st 20 mins of each half imo.

You maybe right Dave, however Danny maybe able to sustain those strengths for longer periods with more experience and game time under his belt.

Isn't that a waste of a highly paid quota player? If that's his future at the club we might as well get rid and spend the money elsewhere.

Me neither, he has done well for us although some people's expectations were higher than they should have been. What I would say is that if an NRL club wanted him then I would release him and use his big salary to sign an overseas centre and just sign a british player to play hooker with Houghton.

I see it as a very, very achievable possibility....and let us not forget Ftiz and Orgre both believe he is good enough to cut the mustard in NRL....a very under ratted prospect is young Danny
