Some pretty narrow minded,heartless morons on here. I clapped the Bulls on cos I do have sympathy for the players and fans afterall it's not their fault for the club's situation. As for this "Would they do it if it was us" attitude what's wrong with showing a bit of respect and class and yes I believe decent fans would.

As for the last try I didn't clap it but I tell you what,while it was frustrating seeing them offload it so many times it was still a cracking try and if we had scored a try like that EVERYBODY would have been wetting themselves.

People really do need to wake up and smell the coffee i.e. get over the past and look to the future. Why on earth do some people feel the need to mention Radders and Vaikona in this thread at a time when we too had an inept board? We are moving in the right direction and last night typified what the rugby league community/family is all about. It's not about the past, given where we were not so long ago with the LLoyd regime - it's about the future of the sport and Hull FC. Last night was great it was especially good to see the younguns play and earn their stripes.

I was sat near some Leeds fans at last years CC final. Most of them stood and applauded Joel Tompkins try, as it was such a great thing to witness live.

The heady days of the Boulevard in the late 70's and early 80's, the 3d would often acknowledge good play from the opposition.

I clapped for the Bradford fans, who have been lied too for months/years and don't deserve it. Our own fans have been lied to for decades under various boards (just look at the 'debt free' claims of recent years, or the drug scandal coverup) so I have sympathy for other clubs fans under the same situation.

There's no wonder our fans are unpopular with a lot of folk. At times we are some of the most insular, short-sighted, and sometimes plain idiotic excuses for human beings you can have the misfortune to encounter.

I applauded them out and put a few coins in the bucket and wished them all the best because they are part of this family.

It didn't and i don't think anyone on here is saying that, i clapped last night because as a rugby league fan i felt for the fans and the players. Lets not have a negative attitude towards other teams in hard times just because all those years ago they maybe did it to us. Times have changed and they are much harder now we as a rugby league community all have to pull together.

Rovers had just won the League the week before. Hull players formed a guard of honour and applauded them on to the pitch and then preceeded to thrash them. Classic Derby 26 man brawl too, with Len Casey getting sent off and spitting out his dummy, pushing a linesman and getting banned 'sine die' (redued to about 12 matches on appeal). Great Game!

I remember that game. The Hull fans poured onto the pitch at the end of the day to congratulate all the Millom players on a fantastic performance. They'd led Hull well into the second half, before Hull ran out winners in the final quarter.

If, as you claim, you went to The Boulevard, you should remember the 3d clapping good play by the visiting team. This was most evident in the late 70's and early 80's when we were on up.

We were a bit soft on Friday but we're hard as nails again now.

Aye gone are the days when we used to shout abuse at the tunnel cage to the visitors coming out.
