Pearson, and his backers, paid £3m for City iirc

You sure? Didn't he buy City an hour before we were going to go under, and so got the club for a pound, and then needed to clear the debts to Lloyd?
I'll have a look on tinterweb and see if I can find anything!

| Just found this from a times article
"The potential return of Pearson could be the boost the club need after their poor start to the season. He and Peter Wilkinson, an internet entrepreneur, bought the club for £360,000 in 2001, when it was in administration. Hull were sold for £13 million two years ago, making a hefty profit for the two."

The one I found, from the Independent says: [i "Councillor Doyle said the council had pressed the main creditors, the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise, to accept any deal which would save the club. Pearson's deal gives them pounds 248,000 out of pounds 800,000 owed. A long list of unsecured creditors, who had the misfortune to deal with Hull, will get nothing. The administrators, Kroll Buchler Philips, will receive pounds 100,000 for four weeks' work. An associate, Peter Holder, said this worked out at less than the full rate for the job."[/i
So the previous owners got nothing, the Inland Revenue got circa (a word we need to get used to with Adam!) £250K and the Administrators got £100K.

Pearson also bought around £3.5m of shares in Derby when he moved there.

| I think this could be a great thing for the club. Knows how to build a successful club from nothing, so hopefully with us already being successful off the field it won't take as much time to get success on the field. Welcome to the club Mr Pearson.

I would imagine he will get himself comfortable with the business of RL before jumping in fully, no need for him to commit himself 100% as such at present when in fairness Rule & Co have run the club well off the field.
Once he gets a better idea and understanding of it things may indeed change.

| i woke this morning and was really concerned about the Allam effect on this, then as the day has gone on I felt it was great for the club. I am now back at my original viewpoint.
What is to stop Allam influencing Pearson and saying that if HCC dont sell the stadium to him then he will move both FC and City somewhere else??

| Morning/Afternoon all! I know it's been a long time since I posted on here but I felt that something of this magnitude could not go unacknowledged. I woke up to the news that Adam Pearson is now sole owner of Hull FC and after I stoppped screaming and jumping up and down, I actually shed a tear. I think it's the culmination of years without a driving force behind this club other than the fans. Now I'm filled with an intense optimism. Bloody hell, I'm not sure I've ever been able to say that before.
Obviously I'm not expecting miracles overnight but when you look at truely successful clubs, the one thing they have in common is ownership that not only has a strong desire to win, but is prepared to do what it takes to make that happen. I believe Adam Pearson will bring that to our club.
Welcome aboard Adam. It's time to make this club great again.

I'm not that shallow, if you say you didn't mean to cause offence then fair enough, your comments were obviously just misguided at the time, I know some people did take offence.
We all need, on occasion, to just think again before we hit that submit button, and I accept I have been one of the worst in the past.

| Cautiously optimistic seems to be the key phrase at the moment, and that's where I am too. So long as it's not about getting hands on the stadium, I think it'll be fine. I wouldn't be surprised if Pearson's looking at it as a way to have something of his own, without having to answer to others (ie the Allams). I got the impression from what was said when Bartlett sold up that it wasn't Pearson's preferred choice, but the only option left after not being able to get finance elsewhere. Maybe he doesn't like the way some things have gone since.
Also glad that Rule etc are staying on, it's a good sign of Pearson's intentions IMO. He's not rushing into anything and trying to seize control of everything straight away, he's willing to take a patient, measured approach which is completely sensible. I'm actually one of those who think Rule has done a good job anyway TBF.
Another thing I've increasingly found myself wondering as the day has gone on: Is this why Agar has had such a lengthy stay of execution? This will undoubtedly have been going on for a while, so was replacing him delayed because the change of ownership was coming? I know if I was buying a club I'd want a say in any change of coach that may be about to happen.
Ultimately, the previous board leave us in a healthy financial position but now realise that they had taken us as far as they could/were willing to and had also pushed the fans to breaking point. Think they knew that with things as they are they risked the value of any sale decreasing in the near future. If this news is now followed with a new coach in time for next season, I think the possible/probable decline in season ticket sales will be avoided and hopefully our on-field slide finally arrested. I know I'd be back in the queue.

Spot on.
I'm definately in the "cautiously optimistic" camp, lets just hope its not misplaced.

| Just listening to him on talkSPORT, says he wants us to get regular gates of 15/16 thousand.
Also said he'll sit down with Agar and talk to him before making a decision.

Certain Black and White business men would not deal with Hetherington.
Time for the sleeping giant to awake.

| From the interview we need to play on the Adrian Durham links a lot more than we currently do, both as a club and a sport. I never actually realised how much of an RL fan he was, so he'd surely be willing to do a bit more promotion of the game as a broadcaster to millions of people everyday.

| Pearson categorically says he will never merge the club.
Going in and having a look at the whole situation before any decisions are made on Agars future.
Doesn't think it will take much to get the club challenging every year, which is where it belongs. Bit of investment in the playing side. Also a bit of investment in the marketing to get fans excited again.
Was shocked to find how little the players earned for the effort they put in.
