Agreed, our performance against Bradford was by far the worst of the year so far. However, it didn't help that we were missing our best player (by far) and had our replacement half-back taken out of the game after three minutes, before losing two men to the sin bin whilst the game was in the balance.
I think it's a bit far fetched to say we looked as poor as Hull did, that performance against Widnes was dire but unfortunately for us I can't see two performances like that in a row. I'm just hoping Gentle sticks by Seymour and Arundel for another week.

maybe it was a liitle harsh saying you were worse than us, one thing for certain, seymour wont be picked if gentles' aftermatch reaction is anything to go by, arundel needs a few more weeks at york and extra hours with the tackle bags!

Don't see that many changes being made, Gentle might regret saying that straight after the match. Arundel will probably get dropped and Seymour but not many others.

Not sure what Gentle will do. Having dropped both players after 1 game at Leeds, can he drop them both again after their first game back or is he risking destroying their confidence so much it will be counterproductive? More importantly, is there anyone who can come in to such a pivotal position as 7 and be good enough to hold their own?

Thought Holdsworth was out for a while, heard he was suffering from unexplained headaches whilst running and that's hardly something to take risks with.

He was touch and go for Widnes game so should play on Friday.

Both players only came in as injury cover. If the players they replaced are fit then they'll get dropped. Standard practice.

I know Tickles just coming back from injury but he's been gash so far and needs dropping till he improves his fitness imo

We've had a pretty tough start so far playing some of the better sides in the league. So it will be good on Friday to play 1 of the poorer teams. The performances have been good so far by us, time for Classy Cas to get the results to match.

Lynch been our most consistent forward for 18 months so slightly harsh to drop him.

Same here. Think Seymour is finished not helped by the clubs handling of him either to be fair to him, Galea has disappointed me as although I thought it a strange signing I thought he may have been a shrewd signing but in all honestly he just like someone needs to put a fork in him as he is done.

Plus other usual automatics in the 17 need to look at themselves as Saturday was an unacceptable performance altogether, the only positive was Lineham continues to show improvement and desire.

I think one improvement that has got to be made is when the interchanges take place. Many other teams performances seem to improve when they start interchanging players and up the pace; ours seems to drop and the new players take time to settle in.

When Heremaia came on on Saturday it looked like he had been training with a different team; no one was putting themselves in a position to receive a pass. I don't know whether that is down to him, the other players or more probably the coaching.

Similarly I do not know why Lynch is being substituted more regularly. He generally played 70 or 80 minutes each game last season without any drop in performance. It seems a waste of an interchange but then we are not party to the information the coaching staff have about player's fitness etc.

Westerman also needs to up his game. He has scored tries but is just as likely to try a risky and unsuccessful offload or give a penalty away. He is a very talented player but I'm not sure about his work ethic. He should be capable of doing for us what John Wilkin does for Saints and Sinfield for Leeds; a skilful mobile forward who can lead by example and even play in the backs if required.

I think Cas will be a difficult match. They have signed some very experienced players. Their problem will be keeping them fit throughout the year.

As a final comment about Seymour - and I am aware of the news a lttle while ago. I appreciate that his confidence may have taken a knock with all the news about other half backs coming in etc but all he needed to do on Saturday was put in a competent - not brilliant, just competent - performance and he would at least have stayed in the squad or started if Holdsworth is not fit. As a professional we were entitled to at least that.

Having said all that I retain a degree of optimism about the season as a whole!

Top post in all respects. There was one play in the first half where Heremaia got totally flattened while he was waiting for someone (anyone) to give him some running options around him. After he played the ball you could see him playing holy hell with his team mates. If there's criticism of the coaching for me then it would be that regardless of playing personnel that kind of thing should never be happening.

Massive pressure on the players this week and they need to handle it. Everyone is expecting a win and after some players reactions on Saturday, some fans will be baying for blood.

Expecting a win? I demand a win!
