A quality off quota player on reduced wages for another year? and you complain?

Whilst it is good news for the club, I still think it's crazy that clubs can have so many overseas players not counting on the quota.
There's no wonder that we can't compete with Australia & New Zealand.
Saying that, my moral outrage would soon subside should we now sign Cronk or Soward!

actually FCB I think some of Raynors cash was taken up this season, in fact I remember that being said I think, but we have the money from Calderwoods contract because he is not factored in next season and will at best get a play as you go contract. However we have paid a big chunk to tick and some to Manu Whiting and Houghton, so I guess we have enough for one bigish signing and a young British player, I can't see an Aussie Greenshileds and a British player though I don't think we have the cash.

Fitz said this morning "Rich has strengthened the squad and I am confident we will be better next year," which is a strange thing to say with one Aussie Grand final Prop out and a young winger out and a young winger in! I think he knows something myself!

Can you have pay as you play contract with the cap? If he was fit for the full season it'd get to a stage where he would have spent his allocation and couldn't be played anymore.

I'd have said defiantly not, but we do get the instances when a youngster can't play due to a impending 10/15 th app.

Think we might struggle to get someone because of the lack of funds and also they will have to judge it carefully also with the recruitment for 2012

That doesn't suprise me, O'Meley was still at the Roosters until he read my e-mail last week.

He signed before 2008 and this was his last year of his orginal 3 year deal(4th been optional) so he was able to apply to come off the quota.

I think it's because he signed prior to the 2008 season which is where the dispensation cut off point is I believe. There was some doubt as to whether he would be exempt as he signed a 3 year deal with a 4th option year as opposed to a straight 4 year deal. Obviously it's come out in our favour.
