Think the West upper could be a bit of a red herring.

as far as I am aware the club have to pay to use the West Upper, so I doubt they'd have made the decision just to hype the game up.

I hope Leeds turn up in numbers to make this game a big occasion, we haven't had this much pre-game hype and interest in a few years (Derby's aside)

To be fair I don't think us Rhinos will turn out in massive numbers and would expect less than for the CC cup tie I am afraid. The kick off time is a problem, 4.30pm is ok if you are a local, but it means leaving Leeds after lunch and losing half a weekend day, the expense of last weekend & the fact it is on Sky, quickly followed by the Saints game, I feel means many will give this a miss.

I am in two minds whether to come or just stay in and watch the game on Sky to be honest!

but does that put football fans of when they travel around the country on a saturday for a 3 pm kick off in great numbers, i think people just look for excuses rather then just getting yourself down and supporting your team for what should be a great game of rugby league

what crowd will we need to get a 14k average for the season please? would be a great effort from the fans to get an average of 14k after the last 2 years weve had. a big well done to everyone whos got them self down to the kc this season

Either way a good effort all round as it looks like its heading to be one of the biggest non-derby crowds in super league this year (Wigan got 22,000 odd against Warrington if not classed as a derby and bizzarly 18,605 against Quins). Leeds biggest 17,200 against Saints I think.

Wigan did a promo for the Quins game, still a very impressive crowd though.

TBH opening the west upper seemed a pointless exercise it probabley cost more to do it than it reaped back in tickets sales. The full bottom tier of the ground holds approx 20k.

Looks like this was the winner - does he/she win a prize? A refereeing course presented by Ian Smith perhaps?

Excellent attendance, makes our aggregate for the season 178,500 and our average 13,731 which is 505 up on last season.

Not heard Saints attendance tonight but they needed about 17500 to match last season and Salford tomorrow are some way off last season.

EDIT: 13,978 at Saints (disappointing?) means that their average is down by 280.

it was the correct decision, most of the empty seats were corporate ones. And it'd have been a tight squeeze to fit the people into West Upper into the West Lower. The club would have risked the home seats 'selling out' and locking fans out...which would have looked very unprofessional.
