That's definitely the impression I got listening to JR last night. He made the point a couple of times that RA had pretty much inherited the current squad, and he shouldn't be judged until we have seen how 'his' team perform.

On the face of it I could possibly see Thackray, Maloney, Hodgson & Whiting with question marks on Lee, Motu & Cusack, but possibly maybe only one or two from that list.

Particularly like the bit about him being a character. For me the recruitment of players of this type is exactly what was required and in Tansey Longy and Fitzy we have players who can hopefully change our side from being a quiet team to one where everyone wants to be involved. Lack of communication and verbals on the pitch has been of the major issues since Crooke left.

Thackray has been playing well and maloney has shown enough in limited game time for me to warrant another deal. Dependant on whether we sign another prop i may also keep Moa on IF there is no-one else available

Hodgson is only a young kid and needs another year at least of fulltime training to show if he is good enough

Other than that thorman has not been good enough, cusack takes up a valuable quota spot. Haven't included Tony as although he had done nothing wrong at fullback with tansey coming in and maybe a proper fullback then i feel there is no room at the club.

Despite playing well at times this year both Lee and Horne have to go as these are the players that have had enough time to show if they're good enough IMO and should be released as they are not good enough/utility which we have too many of

In an ideal world, I would sign the bolded players again. After this signing, it seems to me that Tony is going (despite the hints in the interview) which is a shame. For me Cusack is our best prop and would sign him if his fitness is upto it. Lee is finally showing some promise in a Hull shirt and I feel Maloney deserves another shot next year, but still as 5th choice. Whitings form for me means he should be signed up. We need quality in the squad and not quantity and feel that there is room for him due to the fact there doesnt seem to many top young kids in the reserves ready to go fulltime yet.
For me Thorman is terrible, Thackray is poor, Moa just doesnt seem to be getting used much and I'm not sure Hodgson will be needed. G.Horne tries most of the time but for me he doesnt have the quality of other utilties we currently have

Replacement for Skinny Bryne? Can fit in anywhere from 1-7 and at hooker. I dont think he'll be a strater in a specific position, just used as cover for the next couple of years. He'll end up playing most games anyway as injury cover or on the bench.

He's a natural footballer, young, english, has pace, enthusiasm and ambition. Yep, happy with this one.

Another great signing, not as good as the other two in my opinion, but the point is at 22 he could well be in a few years time his signing is a great move in that respect, pacey good kicker with a bit of attitude too!. Bit of a blow for the 'old folks retirement home crew' though

Good signing, also like the timing will give the club an insight on who wants to stay and who doesn't if the players don't bust a gut from now till the end of the season get rid or send em to caravan park.

I would keep these, maybe Lee too but unsure.
