Thanks, 5 years without a SL win is pretty poor, I'm guessing we haven't beaten then while coached by Holbrook or Woolf.

Seems a long, long time since we beat them 47-18 away in the Cup in 2016 and then put 30 on them at home in the league a few weeks later.

The last time we beat them in August 2017 they were coached by Holbrook.

That cup game was excellent and I remember the scoreboard got it about face, FC won 74-18. Would love another result like those but still think we’ll grab the wounded lion’s tail and get a mauling, hope I’m wrong. I was so upbeat for the cup clash against Hudds. but as always we don’t know which team will turn up.

Linnet is now out for 12 weeks with the same injury as Lomax. I know Saints have already lost Dodd, but it seems a big gamble Saint sticking with Lomax who'll be playing on one arm.

I guess he'll defend at fullback but if not we just need to send as much traffic at him as possible.

Strange how TS said Linnett could play with injections. Said the consultant advised he couldn’t do any more damage to it? Now the opposite has happened



Surely if Lomax plays we will give him as much work to do as possible. Kick early if he is defending at full back or attack the side he is playing if not.

For me personally I’d normally say saints away is a free hit.
Saints will be busted regardless of who takes the field for them Friday night. If we are to be serious contenders then it’s a Must Win game.

Personally i wouldnt select Reynolds or Griffin from the start.
Reynolds missed tackle rate, is one of the highest in the comp, and Griffin is prone to individual errors, at best id bench them,

A prediction of a narrow win against the Saints. A favourite match-up for me as many on here know.

It's not a must win game.

Why would Saints be busted? They've not played for a week and they gave the first team a week off after Easter.

Saints are 1/4 or thereabouts with most bookies. Minimal injuries for them and massive motivation to get back on track in style after the cup loss, plus home advantage. To have any chance we'll need our halves to produce quality we've not seen from them yet in addition to the pack producing something special. Saints have only really lost once this year if you discount the game where they played their reserves, so calling this a "must win" is crackers IMO.

Have you seen their 21 squad. Lomax with one arm , his half back partner is out. Makinson and Percival both look like they took knocks last week. Farrell first half try showed they’re not at top of their game. Fact they’ve played their kids before the semi match shows they’ve got players carrying knocks. When was the last time saints did that?.
Their line speed wasn’t at his usual level.

If we don’t beat them on a 6 day turnaround then I’d be disappointed.
