All this shows is that for some reason you've formed a dislike of Westerman and it's colouring your opinion. Washbrook's stats are nowhere near as good as Westerman's.

Bitching and slagging off apart,there has been some valid points raised about both players.Im not a massive Westerman fan either,he can have a couple of good games but then go missing for a couple,too inconsistent for me and always misses the big shot but can get his hands dirty as well so can see both sides of coin.Abdull is a 13 wrote all over him and will be outstanding in that role in yrs to come,if a offer came in,I'd take it for Westy and play Whiting at 13 until Abdull is ready.

Westerman for me has NOT lived up to the hype. Remember we paid a hell of a wedge to get him (More than Sneyd). I know which has given better VFM.

He was player of the year and represented England last year! He's been fantastic for over 2 years now. People just don't like him, that's fair enough, but there's absolutely no stats to back up this idea he's not been anything else but very good.

Can you explain just how he's overrated? Because winning player of the year and getting international recognition don't point to someone being overrated. He's not been as good in attack as he was last year, but he's still been fantastic in defence.

You've only got to ask the players he plays with every week how good he is.

He's missed 37 tackles all season. For reference, Minichello has missed 72 and Houghton 54.

So, yes - it is a myth. I guess some people just see what they want to see.

Oh - and it's not his responsibility to live up to the 'hype' or justify his transfer fee. Neither are under his control.

Westy was more effective last season in attack,
as he knew his role , as he was the main central pivot.

This year with Sneyd, assuming that role, both Westy & Sneyd for mine both appear to be confused, who is the central pivot.....

Defensively Westerman is superb. -IMO

For mine IF Westerman went to Wigan, he would fit into their style easily, he is a similar style of player to O'Loughlin..

The tackle stat is a joke, do you even know how its calculated? (although houghtons tackle count is impressive as hes often first man in the tackle) Its got nothing to do with people not liking westerman or the transfer fee etc, people form an opinion by watching him week in week out for the last few years. Just because you and 1865 put yourselves on a pedestal when it comes to deciding who is a good player, which players have potential etc etc. Doesn't mean the rest of us cant have an opinion

All you've done is prove that stats can be miss leading, and maybe should trust what you see in front of you. Not one person on here would say Westerman as had a better season than Mini.

Not at all. In attack they have differing roles. Stats are not the be all and end all of everything. But great indicators in certain areas. 26 errors and 16 pens are irrefutable stats. Missed tackles can vary due to ares played in. But 72 is still a lot. I have seen this plenty. I also saw last yr Westy being in our top 3 players nearly every week. I mentioned this to a pal after about 8 games last yr. Said I wouldn't of not had him top 3 in any game. So I sort of looked out for him. With 2 months of the season left had him player of the yr. Ellis was unreal at the end though so pipped him for me. But he still got picked for England. But this yr he's been a little off in attack. But work wise been tremendous again. Only people now brain wash themselves he's been no good whatsoever which really is a case of not seeing what's in front of you.
Westy hating is 1 of the strangest phenomenons I've come across on the Fc terraces. In his time here there's been plenty of more worthy candidates for abuse but he gets hammered. Rankin adored for his effort and enthusiasm. Westy-nope. It's really odd to me
