like you say, far too much sentiment, Horne has earned a lot of money out of FC, he has done nothing to suggest he has coaching credentials, he can't even improve his own kicking game in 10 years.

Spot on post, Longy did wonders for saints, but they didn't keep him on as coaching staff, because they felt sorry for him, it's called business not charity.

| Quote ="Bombed Out"Come on live in the now that was a different era and you cannot compare the 2.
Your endless positivity regardless of how bad we are is embarrassing as is your berating of others who disagree with you.
A club our size with our fan base and financial backing should not be scrapping out for a bottom 4 finish.
We are a joke as is our coach and Pearson needs to act now.
If you're this positive because you want the best fan award you're welcome to it. Wear your pin badge with pride.
Me personally I'm well fooked off now. I'm no less of a fan then you but aren't prepared to continue putting my money blindly into this club when they simply don't deserve it.'"
Sorry for being positive but what good will having a his sy fit on here do....nothing.Radford is going nowhere so we just have to get on with it.We don't have a god given right to be anywhere in the league at all.......look at Bulls with all the success they had..would you want that...me no.....we have tried splashing the cash and hasn't worked so now trying to build from within with varying degrees of success.Radford isn't the man for the job. But AP won't get rid yet as I think he wants to see how we go next season with the halfs we have finally got.Im brasses off as much as the nxt fan and want to see the day like we had in Cardiff again..that's why I still go..just for that 1 day that makes it oh so worth it....I'm not a super fan at all. I haven't been to an away matches and I miss the Thursday matches due to work so I'm hardly the best fan but I just don't see the point in getting worked up...I'm already looking forward to 2015 as it can't be any bloody worse.

| Hull are not a top club. Never will be at the level Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Warrington are now, and as much as I hate it Salfords lottery win will put them way ahead of us too. Maybe in the past a team could be successful for a period built on a crop of youngsters or appointing a good coach but I don't think this can happen in the modern era.
The sooner this is realised and expectations are managed accordingly the better, looking at it on the surface you'd expect Hull to be a big club, a big following with the potential to be even bigger, and the grassroots structures in the area produces good players, but for whatever reasons in 15 years back in the top flight we've not really progressed much from we're we started, granted, the teams assembled between 2004-2007 played some decent stuff and obviously won the cup. Even after numerous changes at coaching/board level this is still the case, Id say competing in the SL is about our level, and we're doing that.

We are not the Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool of rugby league. We are Newcastle Utd or Spurs; a team with passionate fans and a proud history, but in the recent past, perennial under-achievers. We will only change that by recruiting the best players, appointing the best coaches (irrespective of where they come from), developing our own talent and by ridding ourselves of the corrosive culture which has permeated the club for years.

Comparing Hull to Newcastle is pretty spot on. Big support but not a lot else.
Without irresponsible investment from a sugar daddy ( I wouldn't want that anyway) we'll never be a top club, even with it it's not the bee all and end all, look at how Warrington have had to build and build over 10 years, and although they have established themselves as one of the big boys, they'll be hoping for a bigger return then a couple of cups in the coming years.
I find it hard to see what Pearson see's in the club, it's a thankless task really.

| We go round in circles appointing unproven Head Coaches, when their is no attack structure in place.
At this moment in time - IMO, Radford either needs more support on his backroom staff, ie an Attack Coach - or to be sacked.
The only time, to hire an unproven Head Coach, is when , the attacking structures are set in stone, then the Assistant continues with the same methods, preparations etc.
I dont buy into the theory, of changing player personnel annually, a good coach would mould a group of existing players into a team - Powell for one is an example of this.

| For me the concern isn't the results or the league position. We're told that we're changing our outlook, concentrating on bringing youngsters through rather than signing big names etc and that's always going to take time. Saints have had some poor seasons by their standards of late while they've been fielding kids but it's stood them in good stead because they now have a crop of youngsters with loads of first team experience.
What does alarm me is the amount of players going backwards - including some who you would think would be at the heart of this 'team Hull' business. Lineham and Crooks are the obvious examples but there's Chris Green as well - all a shadow of the players that impressed under Gentle. Jamie Shaul, arguably, not as good as he was last season. Micky Paea nowhere near as good as he was for Rovers last season. Richard Whiting completely bombed out. Watts has been poor. There have been some successes - Westerman, Abdull, Lacaster - but overall the individual players are regressing and the team is getting worse.
So even if you excuse the results, the league position, the questionable man management with young players being publicly bombed out to Doncaster, the inconsistent team selections where players are started one week then dropped altogether the next, the odd behaviour in the transfer market where we've signed people like Carvell and Colbon for no apparent reason only to cast them aside almost immediately, the alarming media statements such as last week's laugh-a-minute claim that Talanoa is one of the best wingers in the competition (presumably we'd find out if he ever went and stood on the chuffin wing) and wrote it all off as inevitable teething problems of a long term project, what faith can you have in Radford to carry out the long term project when players who should be key to it are getting worse?
I thought he was a lousy, ill-disciplined player for us second time around. I thought he was a dreadful captain, standing silently and blowing out of his ars under the posts after we conceded tries while giving away penalties for fun. I think he sounds like that annoying bloke down the pub who reckons he knows everything but actually hasn't got a brain in his head. And so far as coach I think he's been appalling.

Sorry my sense of humour, it's the sun here in Zante, gone to my head, didn't think for a minute a Rovers fan would bite on our board I'm sick and tired of the keyboard warriors prattling on about Radford out/Pearson's a tossre. We're not sleeping giants and as for our proud record, "The Panzer Pack" won a title using the play off system in the 50' and contributed to a record number of defeats at Wembley. Sorry to say it but Rovers won more than us in the 80's. We messed about in 2000's. Baldy's correct to say we've seen worse, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's,2000's and now 2010's comes to mind. Get over yourselve,s. It will come good, you'll just have to wait a bit longer

Sneyd is currently 4 th in the league on loan with the team who you signed Chase off.....can you see the connection.......only goes to to clubs in the bottom of the table........all the big clubs have needed half backs....we couldn't sort the visa out,Sts,Wigan and Warrington all looked elsewhere than Chase.....he is a over-rated petulant thug.

| Like BarnetFC said we are going backwards with some very strange decisions being made and people being randomly being dropped. If we are going with youth why is Crooks playing for Donny today instead of Tallanoa being played out of position last night. Blaming the half back situation is the easy way out, Wire beat us with Myler and O'Brien, at home Widnes did us with Brown (who got injured) and Gilmore and Wakefield with Sykes and Sjieka. Last week Wire had Bridge and O'Brien. We beat Leeds with Richard Whiting at Standoff with Peter Gentle, a lot of it is about the game plan and we don't seem to have one.

That's this year. Last year you were going to splash the cash on Chase, Prince etc & win trophies. Next year's likely to be different again. Adam's a snake oil salesman. A marketing man. You'll have a different 'brand' every year.
