It will be great having competition, loo at the quality on Wigans bench that is what you want.

murphy a good young talent and would be a good signing but where would he fit in with whiting and yeamo not sure a move for us would be good for his development not sure

I agree Murphy would be a good signing , that may well be achieved at below market value due to the problems at Wakefield.

Surely it's about improving the quality of our squad rather than were he will fit into the starting team. As it's clear our strength in depth isn't anywhere near good enough. He would be a welcome addition.

He plays mostly wing, has played centre but his preferred position is Fullback.

Think Murphy deal will depend on how soon the administrators hand over the club to the new owners. As for him staying loyal to Wakey its all very commendable but unlikely because if the admisistrators agree to sell the player he will have little say in it! Seen as he has reportedly turned down Huddersfield it a bit like Will Sharp all over again! 50/50 I would say!

Maybe we are all jumping the gun here, it may well be someone else altogether.

Also with Wakefield's SL future in doubt the prospect of 3 years at a lower level may not appeal too much.

Maybe so but with the situation Wakefield are in , every player may well effectively be up for sale.

whilst on the subject of wakey a young player called paul johnson a prop just signed from saints looks a very good player plays really long minutes and works ridiculously hard he someone deffo we should be looking at, i remember in pre season after the leeds wakey game he was bigging him up tipping him to be like the next jamie peacock in his style of game

I actually like Luke George at Wakefield he's big strong and quick, if I'm honest I see more potential in him than Murphy.
