| Quote ="Kosh"The only 100% fair way is to expunge all their results plus Magic Weekend. The extra PR hit compared with the Bulls being liquidated and unable to complete the season would be minimal.
Hopefully it won't come to that because all the options are poor ones no matter how fair they may be.'"
While it'd technically be swings and roundabouts for us the idea of Disco Dave's derby dash counting for nought would be more annoying for us than it would be amusing for you, I think. To lose fairly recent World Club Champions and a showpiece event (even a second class one) is short order would look... careless. The the extra PR hit of the slight imbalance...
One way or another, I think the games will be played.

| Liquidate, form a new company, let them fulfill the fixtures with the current Bulls players, if they agree (doubt anyone's got enough cap space for them not to) then relegate them to C2 and let Fax in next year.

Not sure it would be any great difference tbh, you'd loose 2 points from the Millennium weekend, but we'd loose 2 from beating the Bulls earlier in the season, that you'd not loose.

I can see you've really thought that one through.
'Fax didn't get within a bus stop of a franchise at the last round, what makes you think they'd be ready now?
Unfortunately I think it is more than likely that we could realistically be looking at the end of Bradford (Bulls, Northern or whatever) and possibly one other team and a 12-team SL competition going forward. At least, if the 2nd team is London, it would bring a smile to face of that sad little 2@ Easty

So we're going to get rid of another team just because the Bulls will go?
And Fax is a personal preference, that's all. I never claimed it to be anything else.

| I think, basically, that Noble will be working for free. They requested Potter to work unpaid for the rest of the season but he refused.

| If they have ditched Potter just to get Noble back then it is a disgrace. Potter has behaved with great dignity throughout this mess, and the win against Wigan shows the players are right behind him. I fail to see how even a club legend can go in to a club in turmoil, with some furious players and do any better.

Because it is a fixture which is extra to the 26 fixtures where each team plays each team home and away. It is already unfair how the fixtures are decided. I do agree with your later point though that the magic fixtures should also be srubbed. Especially as it means rovers lose 2 points

It is harsh but its the first step, make the staff redundant. Potter was asked to work for free ans said no. Understandably I'd say. Of Noble is prepared to them they have to go with it.
Feel for the staff and fans.

| What a mess.
If they go, then the RFL have the option of the "pure" way, which is to expunge all results AND the Magic Weekend fixtures. This would bring even further negative publicity though through killing the Magic Weekend. Don't think that's an option.
Or they could just have a bye for the remaining Bradford games and give two points. Basically, if Bradford get rid of the majority of their squad and are left with a team of nobodies coached by actually nobody, they are effectively already doing that.
Sad sad day for the game. Poor back room decisions have killed this club, and Leeds suing then for a player they didn't even want hasn't actually helped either.

| Every team playing their 2nd game v the bulls, whether the fixture has been completed or not, 2 points should be awarded. With Leeds keeping their 2 points from the magic weekend

| Quote ="Kosh"What alternative is there? If you let the results stand then not all teams will have played the same number of games by the end of the season. And we'd most likely gain back the 2 points we dropped against Rovers in Manchester so there'd be no net advantage.
There is no perfect way to deal with a side that can't fulfil its fixtures. Why do you think the RFL are so hell-bent on Bradford finishing the season?'"
There is actually a precedent (of sorts) with regard to an uneven number of games played.
Sometime in the late 70's (77 or 78 I think) a Leeds game was abandoned due to a Leeds player Chris Sanderson collapsing and subsequently dying. A decision was taken not to replay the game so obviously Leeds and their opponents (possibly Featherstone) ended the season having played one game less than the rest of the league.
The final league placings were then decided on a percentage basis (number of points per games played presumably). So this would be an option in the event of Bradford disappearing this week and all of their results being expunged including millinium weekend which would leave Leeds (ironically again) having played one game less.
I still think if Bradford are unable to fulfill their fixtures then the obvious solution would be to remove their results with the exception of the magic weekend as those 7 games were a stand alone event which everyone has played and completed, whereas the regular home & away games against Bradford are still to be completed.

| don't want to kick a team when its down but are they getting a points deduction for entering administration? if say, a buyer comes forward tomorrow and they survive, will they be punished for going into administration. if this happens it will virtually settle the top 8 positions, apart from the order of finish
another question is - if a buyer comes forward and they survive, will they lose their superleague licence as they have clearly messed up on one of the most important criteria in the franchise list ie. financially sound

I would assume they will be receiving a 4pt deduction at the very least in line with the penalties given to Wakefield and Crusaders last year. This will, as you say, almost certainly settle the 8 teams to qualify for this year's play-offs.
As for your second question, once again using Wakefieldand Crusaders as precedents, Bradford will presumably keep their SL licence as long as they are capable of operating as a functioning club which fulfills its fixtures each week.

Both % win method and expunging records have both been used in the past.
As you rightly say the (Salford)v Leeds match in 76/77 season was abandoned after 38 mins (when leading 5-2 at the time) due to the sad incident you mentioned.
The following year though Bradford were given 2nd in the league on a % win basis (they actually had 1 point less than St.helens who were 3rd) due to their game with Fev not going ahead due to a strike by the Featherstone players.
in1904/5 (under the 2 league system) Birkenhead resigned from the league after 4 games and those games not included in the results, again in 63/64 when Bradford were disbanded after 13 matches and those results were decalred null and void (they only won one of those games anyway)
With the single league system from 1905 until 1930 the league had a win % basis for the positions as teams invariably didn't play the same amount of games as they played county based matches for the most part.
The win % syatem also applied in the war emergency leagues and latterly in the 1955/56 season when Broughton rangers withdrew early doors
