Are you suggesting Bradford have never gone in for players when a club was struggling ? Its sport you win some and you lose some, if teams cannot hold their own at this level move down and make way for those who can.'"
I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm not trying to make a comparison to what other clubs have done in the past.
I'm having a go at the immediate repsonse by a few on here, and the excitement at potentially raiding them for their best players. It's not what our sport should be about, and I thought we as a group of fans were better than that.
As for your last point - I agree. If teams can't hold their own, they should make way, but again, that's not really the point I'm making.'"
They are our competition. If their loss can be our gain, then so be it. It's hard on their fans, but I didn't see a big queue of opposition supporters lining up to help us out when things got bad. Neither did I expect to.

Didn't the Crusaders players get an exemption so that clubs could take them on without penalty? I presume similar if it gets to that stage for Bradford.

| Think 1 or 2 are perhaps underappreciating this situation. It's not as simple as them serving penance in the National Leagues, we're talking about the possibility of a club who helped form our game going out of existence. Yes, hopefully it won't come to that, and we should certainly try and benefit from it if we can, but I don't want that benefit to come at the expense of losing the Bradford club, only as part of their way to survival. Revelling in their misfortune/mismanagement shows a lack of class, and we are amongst those who really should know better.

They deserve all they get and their sponge fingered self styled ficklest fans(there was not enough room to get on their bandwagon).

NO sympathy whatsoever as they could have got their house in order many times but speculated by paying too much salary. Rovers will end up the same , refusing to cut their cloth.
Offer a fee for Burgess , Whitehead and 2 points for us on Friday I say

There's no doubt players will be sold should they go into administration, that's a given, but as you say, it's the revelling, the rubbing of hands together and overall crass attitude that I saw earlier in this thread which really got my back up.

Grow up , it's business , end of story ! dog eat dog and the Bulls of 10 years ago would have done the same and their fans would have encouraged it as not many liked HULL as we didn't like sponge fingered hangers on

Agreed, which is why I posted what I did on the page 1 of the thread. Potentially very damaging for our sport.

Agreed, wasn't aimed at you at all. I just think there have been a few dismissive remarks that it will be as simple as them only going out of SL and that it's of their own making so it serves them right. From what I can see NL won't be an option, they'll either survive as they are or go completely, and nobody should be wanting the latter. Putting them in the NL would probably seal their fate.

| The attitudes of some people on here is appalling. The vultures were circling before the end of the first page. This is a club steeped in history and that helped form the sport that we all love, and it'd be a sad day if they were to go out of existence.
I understand why you'd be excited about maybe getting some of their talented youth on the cheap, but think about the bigger picture please.
edit: I do, however, think it's appalling that they've got to the stage where they've publicly said 'If every Bulls fan gives us £100 we should be alright'.

While I agree with most of your points here, and some of the comments on this thread have been unedifying to say the least, Bradford went out of business before and eventually reformed and became stronger then ever. The current incarnation of the club has only been around since 1964 so suggesting that this crisis would necessarily mean that they'd be lost to the game forever may be wide of the mark.

| The bulls dominated the sport for many years, final after final that most clubs can only dream about! They appear to have now run the club into the ground due to greed....There are plenty of teams with a rich history in sport sitting in NL1 who would love the chance to build in the SL and should be given a chance to show they can manage their purse strings....
I care as much about Bradfords situation as they did ours!! it's a bleedin sport not a charity! you can't cut it off you pop, simple!.....I hope Pearson is sniffing about as I type

| Bradford went bust in the 1960s and had to restart again, so it's happened to them before.
Their history isn't all that glorious apart from the mid-90s onwards. They had a good spell in the late 1940s and the late 70s, but other than that have not been a consistently top club (although they have spent a lot of years in the top division).
The history of sport in Bradford has been a roller-coaster for their 2 soccer teams, Northern/Bulls, their rugby union team, speedway etc
It's just a city with no money that struggles to support professional sport.

| They do sound in a right pickle with most fans not trusting the board at all.
If they go into administration are the players contract null & void.
If that is the case then I would expect we will be looking at picking up a player for next years squad, hope Mr Lynch gives us a good rap. I would feel bad for Bradford fans should we get players before the deadline but if we do and everyone is happy (Clubs) then why not.

Personally I dont like em and agree completely with what is said above however I just feel for their fans when here we are argueing and squabbling as we sit 3rd in the League and behind a new owner in Adam Pearson who is taking us places.
Bradford have tried most things including giving Tickets away subsidised season passes and getting the RL to buy their ground which saved this happening a couple of months ago. They have gone bust once and misseda season in the 60's before coming back. Its OK if players become available I don't expect any business to sit back and play the moral high ground card whilst others move in as they invariably would, I just think its sad for their fans and who knows one day it could be us!
Just my views of course, I remember Radford too, and when some of our directors we tried to reneige on the Vaikona deal, (their Coach at the time laughed at us and said, I can't believe our luck) but two wrongs and all that. Expect a back lash on the field on Friday!

| No amount of sympathy from us is going to help reduce their debt, yet offers for players will help them a lot more. Asking their fans to donate £100 each is a pipe dream, the majority of those same fans are only there because of the massively reduced season tickets they have offered for the 2nd year running.
At the end of the day the board and to an extent the fans are the ones responsible for the debt they have. The fans because all those bandwagonners have deserted them in droves once the trophies stopped coming in and the board for poor decisions.

I'd expect a certain amount of empathy for their fans, none of whom are responsible for the state their club is in. I'd expect sufficient class not to be advocating our club actively get involved in making a bad situation worse. I'd at least [ihope[/i for enough maturity not to come out with statements that wouldn't look out of place on a primary school playground.
Maybe I overestimate people.

I have no sympathy because I supported FC when they shafted us (was you an armchair fans then as well)...
You are in cookooland if you believe clubs will not be sniffing around now as it maybe viewed as bad form, believe me they will and that will include our club!
Like most on here I care very little what your thoughts on people are.
